The builder put this exhaust fan/light over our range. Super product. The fan will get rid of any odor quickly. We use the light all the time.

Have the model 390, it's loud and cannot be used on the second or third (high) speed. The motor is out of balance and vibrates so much you can't stand it.
Was hoping for better quality from this company. Everything is great in our new home except for this fan.

Very disappointed

This vent fan is so noisy that I rarely use it; so disappointing. It does a good job on moving the odors out, but I just can't stand the loud, loud noise

The PM390 is rated on the high setting at 390 cfm's with 6.0 sones. This insert does offer a multi-speed control that allows you to adjust the speed of the motor, which also adjusts the sound of the unit. We would recommend that you contact our Technical Support Department directly if you feel there may be a problem with your hood insert at 800-637-1453. You do have a warranty that comes with the purchase of your range hood.

Powerful Enough to Keep Food Smells Out

I love reading the reviews from people who complain "it's too loud". Powerful fans make noise, plain and simple! It has 3 power settings, try a different one. You only use it when you're cooking!?!? This vent quickly removes cooking odors and excess heat. The grease does seem to accumulate quickly, so you have to keep the filter clean (throw it in the dishwasher). But this only proves how powerful and effective the unit is. Complaining about "too much noise" is like complaining that the stove generates too much heat. No heat, no cook. No noise, poor ventilation. I would like to know if you can use the ductless filter system even if you have the unit venting outside so that more of the grease would be captured by the charcoal filter system?
I would recommend this to a friend!

Thank you for your review of the PM390. We are so glad to hear you are enjoying your hood! You can use a non-duct filter if you like, but it is not necessary. The non-duct filters are intended to capture odors, which is something not needed when you have the air ducting all the way outside. Moves air well but the higher settings are quite loud. We regularly clean the filter but grease tends to accumulate and drip from the switches. Integrated nicely with the finished cabinet exterior.

Vent flappers stopped working which allowed cold air to blow inside my kitchen during winter.

Vent flappers that open when exiting smoke and close when unit is not on to keep cold or hot air out stopped functioning correctly within the first year. My contractor had to come back to replace them just a week ago. Over the winter months ice was collecting on the vent inside my house from the amount of cold air blowing in. I should have not listened to my contractor and bought a better, more expensive unit.

My unit has the plastic light covers broken like another reviewer stated. Additionally, I have only owned the unit for 2 years and the fan is leaking fluid out of the casing. It has ruined one of my burners. I assume it is oil or grease.
