Disappointed

Doesn't heat, doesn't hold heat

Today's experiment and the results follow. I bake so maybe most of your customers don't know or care about what these ovens do or don't do but it's important when you bake. I tried to bake bread today. You preheat to 500 turn it down to 475 when you load and down again 425 25 minutes later.
At 20' 275 28' 350 37' 440 Pre-heat light turns off at 39' 450 NOT 500 45' 430 49' 420 This is where I had to load the oven anyway because the bread couldn't wait. Turned down to 475 and pre-heat light came on. Turned off at 56' at just 435 1'4" 405 1'15" 400 Terrible Turned it up to 500 and down immediately to 450 & got the preheat light to come back on 1'20" The light turned off 425 still short 50 1'26" 415 dropping again Turned it up and down again to get it to turn on 1'32" Light turned off at 425.
You get the idea. It doesn't heat to temperature, doesn't hold temperature or reheat when it needs to. Waiting nearly an hour for it to get to 420 is a ridiculous waste of energy. I am 58 years old and have had a dozen ovens. This one doesn't work at all. I have tried everything since these were installed to get them to work for us. They haven't worked a single day.

If you have a 3rd party thermometer in your oven that you're reading, those can be up to 20 degrees off. Additionally, opening and closing the door can cause the temperature to decrease slightly. Noisy!

We have had this oven for well over a year now. Overall I like the oven. It bakes reasonably well and pretty evenly. I didn’t think I would like the “No Preheat” function as it seemed like a gimmick but I do like it and use it. It works well. Our major complaints are: 1. This oven is so loud! It’s awful. It is very distracting just to try to have a normal conversation in the kitchen when the oven fan is running, especially during preheating and after the oven is shut off. The fan is so noisy and continues to run for 30 minutes or more after the oven is turned off. Guests repeatedly ask about the sound. 2. The timers are terrible. They are tedious to set but worst of all, you can’t hear them. Even if I am in the kitchen I can’t hear them half the time. If someone is talking or the sink is running you won’t even hear them. If you are in another room you mine as well not even bother using them. I use my phone alarm/timer instead. If you can’t hear a timer, it really defeats the point of having it. A dollar store timer is more functional than the one on this oven. Unacceptable for a professional line appliance.

Some models are equipped with a cooling fan that runs during the cooking process to cool internal electronic components. It is normal for this fan to continue to run for an extended period of time, even when the oven has been turned off. Also, the oven is set to operate with certain chimes and tones (default settings) that alert the user to certain oven functions. The silent operation feature allows the oven control to be operated without sounds when necessary. By accessing user preferences, this option can be later returned to operate with normal programming sounds. You can find this information in your Use and Care Guide if needed. Never buy a Frigidaire double oven-Never ever!!

My fridgidaire oven has never baked well. I have had 5 repairs appointments, and still bakes so unevenly. The bottom oven, things burn on the top and raw on the bottom. I am told that is normal to be 50 degrees off from baking. My oven is less than 3-4 years old and I am ready to toss it out. I repeat--DO NOT BUY A FRIGDAIRE double wall oven--ever! I did get the extended warranty, but it bakes horribly--even after 5 service calls. Really!! I have nothing good to say about this product.

Retro?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The oven works well, I have to say, but the appeal of the Viking knock-off controls wears off rather quickly. The knobs don't easily correlate to the temperature markings--in fact, you can't even see the bottom of the dial markings without bending over to look at them. Also, the knobs make it harder to clean. I would find a model with a touchscreen for better accuracy and the ability easily clean.
