I have only used coffee makers that had open design so when I got this coffee maker it had a unique design with a closed in design and I love how it helps keep the heat in so coffee stays nice and hot until ready to get coffee. The set up was a bit tricky at first, but once I read the instructions and figured it out was easy to get started. Love the automatic feature as I love to have my coffee brewed already when I get up in morning instead of having to start it when you get up. Brews nicely, keeps coffee hot and ready for when you want coffee. Definitely recommend this coffee pot!!

Selling Defective LEDs

My KRUPS EC314050 had a defective LED, too. I'm reading the multiple reviews about this and can only conclude they are selling them knowing about this issue. I suspect they know we won't go to the trouble of sending it back, but they get the sale. SO very disappointed in what KRUPS has become. I called, but didn't want to go without a coffee maker while they worked on it. Now I'm reading how they ship them back damaged. SO glad I didn't go that route.

I can't set the clock and it won't start....

I plugged it in but I can't set the clock, it flashes then goes blank. I guess tomorrow I will return it to the store and get another brand..............I'm very unhappy with your product. It is a Savoy EC311050. It's my first time to purchase your products. Bonnie

Horrible smell and taste

Seemed like it was going to be a great machine until I fired it up for the first cup. Horrible plastic taste and smell. Have run a dozen or more cycles with water/white vinegar mix. Getting better but still more effort than expected to make a cup of coffee.

Third times a charm?

We purchased our coffee maker on 12/29/15 and around 6 months later the LCD display had dimmed to the point of being hardly readable. The company was prompt in getting this issue fixed, but when the unit was returned the stainless panels were dented. Again the company was prompt in getting the issue resolved, but when the unit was returned it came with new dents. The unit was then replaced with a brand new one (with dents). I let them know it came dented as well, but was willing to keep it as I was getting tired of being without a coffee maker during the repair and shipping process. The new unit lasted a couple of months before the LCD display started to dim. I was told that this issue hadn't come up before and yet it has happened to me twice. The company agreed to replace the unit with a totally different unit. I am going to try the KM730 model, it's a cheaper unit with less options, but the display is different. All this being said, we are impressed with all the other functions of the EC314 coffee maker. I am disappointed with the issues we experienced, but it wouldn't keep me from recommending Krups products to friends and family.
