I always use silicaone or wood utensils and the insert bubbled and peeled. I was still using it and have used it frequently, but now it has just died...when plugged in, there is nothing. I love this slow cooker, but it would probably have been better to but a cheap slow cooker.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE

When one thinks All Clad, one thinks highest quality product worth the extra cost. However, with this slow cooker it could not be a bigger piece of garbage. If I could give 0 stars I would. This crock pot should have NEVER made it out of the design phase and onto store shelves, and DID NOT have any QA/QC from All Clad. This makes me seriously think twice about buying anything from this brand again. Seems many other reviewers are having the same peeling insert issues I am but that was just something I dealt with since the very first use/wash. But I am writing ~2.5-3 years after purchase with a dead slow cooker on my hands. Came home after a long day at work to a raw meal. Tried again and the heating coils heat up normally but then die after 60ish minutes and turns ice cold, all the while the timer and screen are reading correctly as if it's cooking. All-Clad, shame on you for taking my money and running. Shame on you for putting out a product with bottom rung quality. Shame on you for not doing proper design and testing. And shame on you for tarnishing your product name.

Do not purchase this item. I too have always liked All Clad. This slow cooker insert has bubbled after the first few times using it. Two frustrating years of trying to get them to replace insert on LIFETIME warranty. What a runaround!

Mixed Review

The actual machine works very well. It would be nice if it could be set for less than 4 hours, but you can always get around that. My main complaint is with the non-stick aluminum insert. I have never put mine in the dishwasher, always gently hand-washing without scouring. I also only used wooden or silicone utensils when cooking with it, and only used the Low and Warm settings. However, even with this care, the finish began to bubble and flake after only 2 or 3 uses. After I notified All-Clad, they replaced the original insert for me, but the new insert began bubbling and flaking again after only a few uses. If there were another type of insert without the non-stick coating available, perhaps stainless, I would purchase it gladly, since I love the size and working of this particular slow cooker. However, without a good liner, I can no longer use this due to safety reasons for my family. So, I guess if they don't make another type of liner, this will just be a poor investment headed for the garbage dump.

Inner pot needs replacing

I only used silicone and wooden utensils and it didn't take many months before the coating started bubbling in one small section. Now other areas have lost their coating. I like the size and other than this flaw it is great.

7 quart all clad slow cooker with Aluminum insert problem...
on December 13, 2018

I also have this 7 quart all clad slow cooker with Aluminum insert. I haven't used it a lot but now the issue is that the lights don't turn on to make it work. Not sure if it's the power cord or the heating element. Any suggestions?

Insert Defective

Insert bubbles up and i have only used wooden spoons in this slow cooker. Very pricey slow cooker for a very cheap quality as far as the insert goes. I am appalled by how many people have had this same problem i've had. It's like the inside got to hot and it damaged the insert. I want buy another all clad.
