All-Clad 6.5 Qt. black Ceramic Insert

I bought this product because I love and trust All-Clad products and I have not been disappointed. I have had this for 3+ years now and have 2 issues. It cooks hot and you will need a hot pad to take lid off, lid gets very hot. I have taken this to work many times, use constantly at home for everything from chili, pork chops, meats, deserts and more. Have never been disappointed. I gave it 4 stars not because of the functionality but because of the cost.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Works great but liner is peeling

Like pretty much everyone else on here said, I've only used plastic utensils on this but the inside surface of the liner is peeling. If someone actually monitors these reviews, can you please comment on whether an improved version is or will be available?

Faulty insert

I’ve had this slow cooker for years. I loved it and was sooo happy when I got it. It works well and looks nice. Unfortunately the lining on the insert started to bubble and I contacted All-Clad and they replaced the liner. I was happy again. But the lining on my replacement is bubbling now too. I’m so disappointed. I don’t want to throw it away but I can’t use it so it now sits on a shelf in my garage hoping All-Clad will just make a ceramic liner that fits this model.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Really like; on my second one in 12 years

I bought the first one about 12 years ago. We learned after about 8 years that if the stove is too hot, the result is the insert surface bubbled and peeled. We bought a new insert.
Last year on year 12, it stopped holding the temperature I set it for. It would continue heating but at a very low temperature. After fall of if that, we bought a new one and kept the old insert which I am using with the new slow cooker

After insert replacement...LOVE IT

I did have insert bubbling and Al-Clad replaced it years ago. New insert: No problem. It cleans very easily and it has been on my stovetop as well. I have had this slow cooker for a long time.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The Worst

I have used this slow cooker a very few times. Put my roast and other ingredients in insert today then plugged in and the appliance will not turn on - nothing happens when I press the power button. So disappointing - such an expensive piece I thought for sure it would last several years.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Excellent Unit

I got this product a month ago and boy am I glad I did! We just got a new house and were having over 15+ people for a housewarming party. This slow cooker was able to make enough pulled pork for everyone and then some with ease. Plus it looks so nice that we were able to present the dish right in the unit on our buffet table. I highly recommend this slow cooker!

Large capacity, stellar performance

Purchased the All Clad slow cooker to replace my trusty Breville after I accidentally shattered the lid on the Breville and could not get a replacement lid. I'm glad I did, since this device is a step up in performance and better suits my needs.
First off...capacity. This is a large slow cooker. I appreciate the oval shape as it allows food to spread out better than my previous round shape slow cooker. Meats are submerged in liquid rather than sticking out. It's easier to distribute ingredients in the slow cooker. And of course, more fits in allowing preparation of larger portions...so MORE leftovers.
Second...performance. This machine cooks evenly and thoroughly. The "high" temps are quite a bit hotter than my old slow cooker, so I have adapted my cook times and approach accordingly. Instead of starting on high for an hour before switching to low for the long cook, I skip the high temp startup or cut the time WAY down. It's just not needed on this machine. The low setting does the job perfectly.
Finally...cleanup. As with most slow cookers, it's. a simple matter. The dish is somewhat heavy, so make sure you have a firm grip before extracting it from the base and when putting the machine away.
I hope this slow cooker lasts as long as my previous model. I don't think I will ever need a replacement. I intend to be much more careful with the lid this time!!
I LOVE this machine and solidly recommend it as your primary slow cooker. It's outstanding on all areas. Bravo!
