I love my cordless vacuum they sure make them much better than I remember my little handheld looks like a small little lightweight vacuum trust me it comes with a lot of punch for its size. Well made and very convenient I highly recommend this little power house

Turns off after 15 seconds

Same issue as mentioned by several people before. We plug into base to charge, it states is fully charged, works for only 15 seconds and then nothing, it turns off.

Excellent Until It Won't Charge

I had an earlier model (PHV1810) of this vacuum that lasted for over 5 years--I've had this for 18 months and now it won't charge and thus it won't turn on. I love this vacuum for its compact size, powerful suction, and pivoting feature that lets me get into hard-to-reach spots, but it just abruptly stopped working one day after consistent, quality performance. I'm so disappointed!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Too loud, no suction

Worked well for a while but then lost suction and got super loud. Filter is clean so there is something wrong with the motor. Totally unusable.

Recently bought 3 handheld pivot dustbusters. None of them will turn on or hold a charge. They have never worked.

Poor, and the OPPOSITE of a green appliance!

If it wasn't bad enough that the original li-ion battery had a short life, what makes it worse is that Black + Decker don't even sell a replacement battery! Yet you can easily access the battery assembly by backing out 2 phillips screws, sliding the cover off, and unplugging it from a 3-position connector. There is NO REASON this battery assembly could not be sold!
Instead, you are supposed to THROW AWAY the entire 20V MAX Lithium Pivot Vac product, which is several pounds of (otherwise) nicely engineered plastic and metal--burdening our already overflowing trash dumps! And no doubt (in the mind of B+D execs) buy yet another short-lived B+D hand vacuum! However, this is my last B+D hand vac, for sure!

Mixed feelings

I purchased 2 (TWO) of these because I liked the first one so much. Great power. Easy enough to clean, etc. I am disappointed because Lithium batteries should have a longer lifespan. After 2.5 years of random (light) usage the batteries no longer hold a charge. I can vacuum for about 1 minute before they die. They sit on their base charging 24/7. So I assume the electronics inside know how to keep the battery properly charged without fading. But I guess the cells only last so long. I like the vacuum so I am contemplating buying another one, but I'm torn because I know it will only last 2-3 years even if I keep it in good condition. Maybe it's better to invest in another brand...or maybe not. Hmmm...
