Needs better way to change needles

The actual sewing does a good job. The threading was not difficult after having a new owner's class from the dealer that I purchased the machine from and practiced a few times and showed me a few of her tips and tricks. I would give the product many more stars just on performance However changing and replacing needles is way too difficult. I have spent my entire afternoon attempting to replace a needle and the machine now sits with three threads. Will try again when ready for more frustration.

The only thing it does not do is cover stitch, which would be great for knit projects. Otherwise it is a great little machine.

I recently purchased this serger. I just returned home, this evening, after attending a 3 hrs. class on how to use my serger. The instructor told me it's a fine machine to own. I lucked out and had a private class and learnt so much.

This machine is difficult at best

I purchased this machine and it looked nice. It got good reviews. But, when mine arrived I spent 3 days try to get it to balance. I never was able to do that. Read the book, looked at DVD, did as instructed, but to no avail. It was extremely inconsistent with it's sewing. It also has no way to clean out the left side and thread accumulates there.

Not Easy to Set Tension for the Best Stitches

I visited the Singer website to review the experience of others with this product because I am so frustrated with the results I a getting. As experienced by a previous user, I too have spent the last two days of my life attempting to set the tension on this serger and still can't get it to sew stitches properly. I have sewn "expertly" for the last 45 years and find this serger less than stellar. My other Singer Serger is housed at my vacation retreat and still performs perfectly and I can make adjustments. I purchased the ProFinish as a replacement for home use. I am so disappointed that changing the tension to sew seams is so bad, I really wonder if I have a lemon. I don't give up easily and have never had a problem fixing or maintaining any of my sewing machines but this one is just bad. I will have to replace this one because it just doesn't do the job it was purchased for. It doesn't even serge knit fabric correctly!

Easy to use serger with consistant performance. I use this serger two to three hours a day. Easy to thread, adjust tension, and provides beautiful finish to fabrics. Good value as well.
