This is my first serger and my first experience with one. I find it does what it's supposed to do and after the initial learning curve, I find it easy to use. Threading was a little tricky for me at first, but my current machine is a 1940's singer and all new machines are tricky to me. :) I use it predominantly for rolled hems and it's working out wonderfully. I also use it to serge the edges of linen so it doesn't ravel so terribly.

This serger has not disappointed.. It takes some initial patience to get the hang of threading it, but once that's sorted out, it works great! I'm so glad I got this serger.. It's highly recommended.

I have been sewing over 45 years. This is my second Singer serger, so I have experience using this type of machine. I have NEVER had so much difficulty getting the tension right. Have wasted countless hours, and finally had to go back to the store where I purchased it and have the supervisor thread and set the tension....it took three trips to the store...she set it for me the first time, then I went home and changed the thread and went back after trying to set it up for HOURS and HOURS. The second trip, a salesperson couldn't get it right, either, so I had to go back when the supervisor was in. Unfortunately, I bought the machine in Spring and only used it a few times before putting it away until Fall, so it was out of warrantee or I would have returned it. Also very noisy. Would NOT recommend this purchase to anyone.

I bought this serger yesterday and found it very easy to use and also to thread. Took very little time to sew a nine panel wedding backdrop.

I have used a serger before and this one performs well. Like others have stated before me, it is a bit loud. The foot doesn't go up very high so when I was sewing 2 fleece pieces, the top piece was actually slipping off the bottom. I haven't tried to rethread it yet, but sergers aren't easy to thread so I'll cross that bridge when I have to. I imagine I'll just knot the colors on and try to pull them through. This was bought as a gift for me on cyber monday and I feel it was well worth the $150.! This one will do fine until I inherit my grandmothers REALLY nice one!

Little serger

This is a nice second serger. My major complaint is that the throat opening is so small it's impossible to get your fingers in there to thread the machine easily. I am a small person with very small hands and it's still impossible. Also, I'm not too crazy about where the cutting knife is located. Feels too cramped. It does sew nicely, but it takes a long time to set up and thread.
