We bought this freezer to keep food and breastmilk frozen and it works as expected. My only complaint is that if you let the door slam and vacuum shut, it's very difficult to open the door unless you wait for the vacuum to come unstuck by itself.

The compressor runs about 100 times a day and the evaporator is partially frosted (photo attached), seems to be a classic case of an Improperly charged refrigerant system

The physical size [dimensions] of this chest freezer is perfect for my available home space. Amana has a well-earned reputation for mfg reliable and long lived appliances. That is why I chose Amana over other competitive brands. I have had no problems with my freezer to date but I would like to have had a light within the freezer when the lid is opened.
