[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We we have lived off-grid for 25 years. Recently we made a decision to upgrade our entire refrigeration system. Our Amana 5.3 cubic foot freezer is so efficient that we hardly see any increased draw-down from our battery storage. After the purchase of 2 hanging aftermarket baskets, the interior space is very organized and easily adjusted. We now have the ability to purchase and store food bargains, make plenty of ice, freeze garden produce, wild fish and game.

This freezer is the perfect size for my home. I have a side-by-side refrigerator and the freezer in the refrigerator is so narrow that it is difficult to store very much food. Since I live in Nebraska and I like to have more items on hand during the winter months, I decided to purchase a freezer. After doing some research on the internet I felt the Amana freezer was the perfect size for me. It has been working perfectly. One of the features I like it that there are two lights on the freezer. One light lets you know that the freezer is working--has power. The other light goes on when the compressor is running. The freezer keeps the food at the right temperature and the freezer is small enough that it will be easy to clean. I also like the fact that it came with a basket.
