Love the fridge, except it seems to hold less food than my old one which was 15 cu. ft. Also, where do you keep your eggs? Old one had spaces for individual eggs on the door.
I bought this about 15 months ago. I had 2 service calls under warranty to fix and ill-fitting door gasket, and a broken handle. Recently, the door gasket fell off again and I noticed a crack in the new door handle. I must commend GE Customer Service becasue they shipped me a new door gasket and handle even though the product was out of warranty. The fridge is cheaply made. I don't think it will give me long term service as have other GE products I have bought a few years ago. Sadly, it's not the same at GE without Jack!
We bought this freezer last Thanksgiving, and is really good, we have a power cut the other day and it stayed cold for two days which is great, our food did not spoil so it says a lot about its performance. The only thing is the door handle broke and we did not pulled it with force or anything.
Many people mention the noise, so I'll say this: When running it sounds like the fan in a microwave. Not a loud one, just a fan.
Once we got the temperature set right, it seems to work well. It hasn't spoiled any of our food yet! The freezer space is AMAZING compared to our last fridge.
