The appliance is a great amount of space - but I have to say it is rather loud.

Very loud noises and groans, not worth the money

I bought this refrigerator about five months ago. It is so loud over and above the normal running noise that I thought for sure something was wrong with it. I had a GE repairman come out to take a look at it. He said he has the same model, and they are known for being very loud. He said his wakes him up when he sleeps in the same room. Luckily mine is not in the same room where I sleep, but it is in the same room where I work. Houseguests have made comments that it sounds like it's about to blow up or that it's sending a loud morse code message. It's embarrassing. I wanted to return it from where I bought it, but there was a 10% restocking fee. So I'm very unhappily stuck with it. It's so loud I have to turn up the TV when it starts making noise. I would not recommend this model to anyone. I own many other GE appliances and thought GE was better than this.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The Item does great, but the door SQUEEKS (a few times) but it stops and then the next day, it does it again. The motor makes a noise, like something is loose. But not all the time.

The unit makes too much noise, it's freezer door opens every time I close the fridge door, poor quality shelfs.
