We are getting used to the shelving configuration at last. The meat and produce shelves at the bottom require the condiment shelves to be at the bottom! We didn't notice this pre purchase. I really love the look and size of the fridge though.

It has good shape, adjustable shelves where its needed. I wish I could fit more in the door of the freezer and fridge.

Poor Ice Maker

The ice maker in this appliance is terrible. It produces very little ice. I have had this appliance for about a month and the ice maker has yet to fill up. It produces about a glass full of ice every 2 hours. By the time you fill one glass you have to wait to get more. I have had to purchase ice cube trays, I do have to say that the trays freeze quickly.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We decided on this model after searching for a side by side model that has all the basic features without all the fancy aspects that add to the cost of some models

A fair price and adequate performance after two days. Sticker shock after 14 years with old machine. Although 3 cubic feet larger than model that was replace it seemed smaller. Disappointed in local vendor selling as new and the machine being at least last years model. There should be visual evidence of year produced so that the consumer could evaluate properly. It is quieter and cleaner in design that our 14 year model that preceded the GE. After careful evaluation of all aspects of the GE model and even after being a 40 year Westinghouse employe I have to admit it was the best in its value range.
