GE side by side refrigerator/freezer

I bought this refrigerator/freezer 3 months ago. Overall it has been a quality product with nice temperature warning and control features. It is a little noisy when making ice or refilling the water reservoir. Overall a good buy for the price.

I replaced an 18 year old GE with this model the old one was just too costly to repair. This one is more energy efficient and while not an exceptional unit, for the money it is hard to beat. The feature set is standard issue. Ice maker is good. Noises are not bad.or loud. Keeps things cold and frozen like it should. The shelving is not as user friendly as the old model I replaced. While the spill catcher shelves are ok, they do not allow for placing anything close to the edge and the plastic tabs that hold them in need a rethink. I found it to be cheap that it only came with a single freezer basket. I had to research on-line and order one otherwise there is a gaping foot high useless space in the freezer. I replaced a 26.5 side by side with this one and find that the usable space is actually a little less due to the way the interior is laid out/designed. I do like the built in water filter, it is an excellent feature.
All that aside, I like the unit and would purchase it again. If you want a good basic side by side this unit is worth a look.

Great fridge for the price! Freezer has plenty of capacity for family of four. Ice maker works well, but expect powerful discharge!

I've had this model for about 6 weeks now and I have no problems with it. I like the pull out shelves, the quick water dispenser, and the looks the most. All things are as advertised. If I could change one thing it would be the noise it makes when it comes on. It's not bad, just a bit louder than my old one. I would buy it again though!!

It does ok. A little slow in dispensing ice. I think the number of shelves & their placement could be better - a gallon of milk doesn't quite fit smoothly between the shelves, and to adjust it to fit the milk, I'll lose some space.

I bought this 2+ mos ago when my last 2door decided to stop working. I was hesitant about the purchase due to inside design and features. This one is not fancy with features so we agreed on this model. I love the interior layout it works really well for our family. Hopefully, this will turn out to be a long-lasting product that we have come to expect from GE.
