This product is good, but is an "over kill" on loading feath

To many specialty rack loading features makes it hard to load. Silverware loading rack is very hard to load and unload. Needs a finished or clean light on outside, so you can easily tell when it is finished. Normal cycle is much too long, I always use the one hour cycle, but I always have pre rinse everything.

In the interest of disclosure, I have lived without a dishwasher for 10+ years - so any dishwasher is an improvement. The positive reviews and reputation of the Whirlpool brand are the reasons I purchased this dishwasher. So far, we love it.It is very easy to use and all the different functions are labeled so you know exactly what you're doing. I LOVE the 4 hour delay. The eco dry option is also a great feature. So you put it on 4 hour delay or Overnight wash and then do an eco dry and your dishes should be all ready to be put away in the morning. Or, in my world, when you get home from work the next day.Not very loud at all, unless you have things stacked against each other. I can hear it turn on, but there have been many times when it's been running and I had no idea.I thought I would like the silverware on the door cuz it frees up real estate in the drawers, and I don't know how I feel about it. On the one hand, I do like the extra space in the drawer. On the other hand, I would like to be able to just pull the basket out and put away my silverware. You can remove the silverware basket on this, but it's kind of a pain and I rarely do it.Some of the slats (on the drawers) adjust according to the space you need. There are little plastic bracket things that are supposed to hold the brackets in place. Well, one of those brackets fell off and dropped to the bottom of the washer during a cycle and melted. It did come out easily and wasn't a mess, so for that I was thankful. I don't miss it, but I would say that's a design flaw.Overall, I would buy this washer again and would recommend it.

Quiet workhorse

Our previous dishwasher started making bad sounds like the pump was failing so we decided to replace rather than repair since it was seven years old. That one was touted as quiet but compared to this one, it sounded like a train going by.We spent a couple hundred more for a quieter model and boy does this one deliver the goods. You have to really strain to hear it except for a quiet pulsing motor when it drains. No more cranking the TV volume to hear over the dishwasher. The racks are convenient but take some getting used to since they are different than our last one. The adjustable tines are handy but now that they are set, I'll probably rarely change them. The upper rack has great hold downs and design. Things stay put.The silverware holder in the door works okay and leaves more room in the lower rack for dishes. I don't use the separator and haven't had any issues with cleaning although I don't leave gobs of food on them (or plates for that matter). The dishwasher cleans and dries just fine. Since there isn't a.macerator, we rinse dishes more but aren't obsessive. All in all VERY satisfied this far, we have only had it for a little over a month so as for durability and repairs, we have to wait.

Problems with the racks staying in position, plastic clips don't hold. Detergent container doesn't always open, and the cleaning cycle is extremely long, about 4 hours.

Quiet dishwasher

This dish washer cleans great and it's quiet, I don't care for the silverware on the door design. Beside that I like it a lot. It does take along time to run the normal cycle.

Nice Replacement Dishwasher

We purchased this model to replace a failing dishwasher and to match the style of our refrigerator. Overall, it's a nice unit. Very quiet, especially compared with our previous one. Our only disappointments were the extra components we had to purchase or remove from our old unit and install with this one. You don't find out about these until AFTER you break open the box. The furnished drain hose could have been a foot longer to ease the install.

Happy with Purchase - Minor Issues
on November 7, 2013

I bought this product because I loved the white ice collection. It's sleek and contemporary and offers an option to all stainless appliances. No major complaints with the dishwasher. It cleans well and is very quiet as compared with the 10 year old dishwasher it replaced. The issues I've noticed are:-no indicator light on the exterior letting you know the cycle is done.-Not all dishes are completely dry when the cycle is over.-Slots on the utensil basket aren't wide enough to insert certain utensils (some dinner knives) and when the basket gets crowded it can become hard to manage. The basket attached to the door is a bit awkward but I keep it there to maximize the interior space for dishes. No appliance is perfect and overall, I'm happy with the purchase.
