Cleans very well, nice design

This dishwasher cleans very well. Everything comes out spotless despite our hard water. We do use the rinse aid which may help with that. We bought this to replace a Bosch dishwasher that was leaking and, other than the sound level, this dishwasher is much better. It is slightly louder than the Bosch was, especially at the beginning of the cycle but still very quiet. I especially like the design and find it very easy to load dishes efficiently. I think we run this 1/3 less just because we can load more dishes into it. I also like the fact that the dishes come out relatively dry. This is the 4th dishwasher we've had experience with in the last 13 years (due to a move) and this is by far the best one.

So Quiet

Cleans perfectly anything I place in it, and it is so quiet. The only downside, is it's so low to the floor when you open it to stack the dishes. You really have to bend down.

Was looking to replace another brand of dishwasher that seemed to have a very short work life. Visited several websites where Whirlpool (in general) and this model of dishwasher in particular received a large number of favorable reviews. When I finally visited a locally owned appliance store, the salesman confirmed that Whirlpool was a brand he would recommend over a couple of others I was considering. I've been very pleased with the performance so far. The machine is fairly quiet and does a fine job in cleaning, although I do tend to pre-rinse most of my dishes (it's just a habit I can't break). Plastics on the upper level tend not to completely dry, but this is an issue I've had with every dishwasher I've used. The silverware drawer attaches to the front door. You can remove it and fit it into the lower basket if you want to. At first, I didn't like using it fitted on the front door, but I've come to appreciate this design. I got used to it, and it does free up space in the lower basket. I tend to use the same cycle most of the time, although there are plenty of options to choose from. All told I've been very happy with the dishwasher, and would recommend it.

The Quality Is There

Bought this dishwasher in White Ice although NO ONE could show us even a color chip.We installed a fridge at the same time,of the same color and they match the stove very closely. As far as we can tell,it's white with a brushed stainless handle. Very nice. It's relatively quiet but compared to the washer it replaced,it's stone quiet. The stainless steel insides seem to be clean and dry after every load.Every thing works smoothly and as it should. We like the silverware rack on the door but if you don't,you can put it in one of the racks. We also like that the upper rack is EASILY adjusted so tall items fit .Many of the other washers we looked at were a real pain to adjust. Still too many buttons & options but I'm sure someone likes that in an appliance. Not sure about the energy savings but we don't use the Eco mode as the dishes are rarely dry that way.

We have enjoyed this dish washer. It is easy to use, very quite, and cleans great. Installation was quick and easy. I would have no problem at all recomending this Whirlpool product to freinds and or family.Even our kids enjoy the ease of loading the dish washer now. In regards to the features there are more functions then we would even tend too use. With the price point we were looking for and the quality we demand this was a great purchase fopr our home!

Great sound control

We had just bought a new house and of course wanted the open concept floorplan where our kitchen/dining/living rooms were basically one open space. The biggest concern we had with this idea was the fact that every other dishwasher we had ever owned was always so loud we had to wait till nighttime to run it if we wanted to enjoy ourselves. This model was not listed as the quietest on the market but had a great price point and with the stainless tub we took the chance. It has exceeded every expectation and performed flawlessly to this point. Sometimes we have to check with each other just to see if it's been started because it's so quiet. Did I mention it also does a really good job of cleaning? And my wife's favorite feature is the door-mounted silverware holder which really seems to maximize the available space on the bottom rack. If you're looking for high quality cleaning, very low noise output and a good price point this might just be the machine for you.

Good, But

We bought our Whirlpool Gold in January, 2014. It looks good and cleans well but there are two things that we feel need an improved design. 1. Though the dishwasher is meant to be installed under the counter, the controls can not be seen which means that you can not pause the washer if you have to add anything after starting a wash. The directions clearly state that you can not just open the door, and there is not enough room to slip fingers under the counter. 2. The smaller silverware holder slots do not fit our teaspoon handles, and the slots that line up with the soap dispenser can not have knives in them because the hight of the knives block the soap dispenser from opening. Though it is nice to have this silverware holderoutside of the dish cart the silverware is a bit unstable in the container.
