A quite but weak performer

It's very quite but a real sad performer. Have yet to wash a load of dishes that have all come out clean. The silverware basket and placement on the door is one of the worst design decisions I've ever seen in an appliance.

hate the silverware basket. too small, has holes where silverware can come through and doesn't sit tight on the rack.

The dishwasher works to perfection however in our opinion it needs an external visible indicator when the dishes are clean.

Great washer

This washer has done great job in the past few months that we've owned. Our washer gets heavy use with three kids if the house. The only disappointment is the silverware doesn't always come clean. You can't fill the tray. The washer is very quiet and we've had no problems. We would purchase again.

Everything's good but the flatware rack

The placement of the flatware rack on the door seemed like a good idea, but it is not very convenient for loading. Also, the holes are a bit small. Most of our flatware only fits in the back row. Flipping the tops up and letting everything nest together is an option, but defeats the purpose of the rack. The rack can be placed in the lower basket, but that consumes valuable real estate and is also rather awkward.Overall, it is very quiet and seems to be well made. Plenty of options for those who want to fine-tune things.

This dishwasher matched all of my criteria: hidden controls, stainless interior, and a powerful enough pump to allow me to install the optional 12' drain hose (necessary for our kitchen layout). The power scour option works very well and I like the multiple layout options in the dish trays. I appreciate what Whirlpool was trying to accomplish with the utensil basket mounting to the door, but it doesn't really hold up to everyday use. Placing longer flatware on the left side can prevent the soap door from opening during a wash cycle and it can be difficult to roll the lower dish tray if a lot of flatware is in the utensil basket. Fortunately, you can also hang the basket from the front of the lower dish tray. I just wish they would have made the hangers for this option as sturdy as the ones on the door. It can be difficult to position the basket on the tray. But this is a very minor problem for an otherwise great product.

This product has great options.

It took me a while to figure out how to load the machine as there was only one picture in the manual which wasn't very useful. Also, the soap dispenser is too close to the openings where my table knives fit thereby limiting placement. I can't get used to how long the cycles take (2.5 - 3 hours). It takes planning around other water uses in the house. I like the hidden buttons and the dishes are getting clean.
