We bought this a few years back and have been pretty pleased with it. It keeps everything consistently cold, the ice maker works great and so does the water filter. My only issues are with the water/ice catch shelf and the bottom inner refrigerator light. The catch shelf is made of black plastic which tends to show water stains that are near impossible to remove over time. Inside the refrigerator, the light positioning & cover got in the way during use & dislodged ,making the light melt the plastic cover. I would rethink the design the location of that one and the upper light inside the freezer. None of that affects its functionality though, so I'm still pretty happy with it overall.

Not worth the $$

Bought this for a autism center. The water dispenser quit working, so the suggested fix was to add expensive heater that is installed on the water line (that was placed in a location where it freezes buy the manufacture). This still didn't stop the water line from freezing, so we are not being told to either purchase a VERY expensive door or unload all of the contents from both the freezer and the refrigerator and allow it to thaw for 2 days. We have clients with very specific diets and some with expensive food. Clearing all of this out every month is not an option and neither is replacing the extremely expensive door. Steer clear of this model.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My refrigerator had Major Problems

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After 2 1/2 years the compressor had to be replaced because it wasn't refrigerating at all. Then a year later the freon in the unit had to be replaced, because the freezer compartment didn't freeze. Thank god it was still under warranty. I always considered GE as a top provider of appliances. Obvously, I received a lemon.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The appliance has been great. It is attractive, quiet, ergonomic design for conveniece, long life water filter, and reliable. I have had the refrigerator for 10 months and cannot think of one negative thing to say. I have a GE range, microwave, and dishwasher as well. I am pleased with all, but have to say the refrigerator is my favorite.

Meet my need.

I have to choose GE brand refrigerator becuase I want my kichent looks kind of professional. And now I am very pleased with its funtion, Very cool and a must need in the kichent.
