I was interested in replacing my old Norelco shaver with an newer version. I have found that this shaver does not cut as well as the old Norelco. The head does not raise my beard as well as the older unit. I'm sorry I threw the old unit away.
It does not give a very close clean shave. It takes a very long time to shave with it. I just do not feel like taking it back to the store. I hate returning things. because you have to wait in line so long. And I have a back neck so that hurts my legs to stand and I am not asking anyone to do it for me.
It does not get very close on my neck. If you don't shave every day it has a tendency to give you micro-cuts. I love how quick it is to shave with it, and how easy it is, but it definitely needs improvement on the closeness.
I purchased this Norelco, expecting the excellence that I had with my other triple head Norelco. I am disapointed with the fact that I just don't get as close a shave, unless I go over area many times. I do like the design and "feel" the comfort in holding it.
Pros: design
Cons: not a close shave unless repeated going over area.

Don't bother if you don't use this everyday

I bought a philips razor maybe 15 years ago, for occasional use. So when I say occasional, i mean I charge it, and used it occasionally (ever 4 weeks) for the next 6 months on the same charge! The blades never needed changing, and every now and then I would need to charge it. Finally, after over almost 2 decades it stopped working.
So, I thought now that it's 2019 that there will probably even better ones, that I can use for the next 10 years. (I was wrong) I bought the Philips 3000. 1) They made it more complicated to remove and put back the blades. Why? I don't know, change for the sake of change? 2) Every time i want to use it, i have to re-charge it!! This is by far the worst feature. As I said, i'm an occasional user, so i need the battery to hold it's charge, like the philips razor i bought almost 20 years ago. But no, the 2018/2019 models holds a charge for exactly 30 min, while using or not using. I'm assuming all Philips are made with this poorer design these days, I think it's time to change brands.
Cons: battery does not hold charge, more complicate to remove and replace blades

I like the design. Easy to keep clean daily. Smooth shaving. But wow... replacing the blades is sooooo expensive that it's not worth it to replace them. I give a big thumbs down to Philips because they just encourage people to buy a new shaver instead of just changing the blades. Very bad environmental practices. Otherwise, I would have given a 5 star rating.
Pros: smooth shaving, easy to keep clean, last a long time on each charges, very well designed
Cons: replacement blades very expensive.
I would recommend this to a friend!
