Needs further improvement

The sound and sub-woofer performance is better than comparable model of a near price. There are different sound settings of which only one seems worthwhile. Loudness is good and harmonic distortion low at a modest loudness level.
Samsung does not provide adequate support for third party remote controls and would seem to have problems with the control for a Samsung TV remote’s ability to control the level of the sound bar or to turn the unit on/off while using the Digital Cable.
The sound bar display is tiny and dim; certainly NOT readable for the sound level and no lights blink when the remote changes sound levels, modes, or functions which makes its hard to use. No light comes on when the sound bar is muted either. There is nothing that shows what sound mode is selected (six different sound modes - MUSIC, NEWS, DRAMA, CINEMA, SPORTS, GAME)
HDMI and Optical cables are not supplied. A tool to access a reset option on the Bluetooth within the Sub-woofer (very slender small hole only access) is NOT supplied.
The power cord is hard wired and does not allow a pluggable right-angle standard power cord. There is no installation drawing showing the proper dimensions to position of the bracket. The bracket supplied only allows co-linear mounting not also mounting from above.
I have not resolved the issue of having to use two different remotes to watch and hear sound.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Lightweight
Cons: Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The soundbar is great. Better than my 5 disc surround system with the eight speakers. takes up less space and just enhances the sound from my flat screen. Great set up.
Pros: Inexpensive, Durable, Lightweight, space saving
I would recommend this to a friend!

INSTALLATION

ALTHOUGH THE SYSTEM IS VERY NICE AND COMPACT, THE INSTALLATION MANUAL IS LACKING IN PRECISE INSTRUCTIONS FOR EXAMPLE THE HDMI CABLES, STANDARD CABLES (INCLUDED WITH UNIT) OR OPTICAL CABLE. THESE SHOULD BE LISTED AS OPTIONAL CHOICES. NON TECH SAVY INDIVIDUALS WILL FIND THIS VERY CONFUSING.
Pros: Inexpensive, Lightweight, compact, good sound
Cons: poor owners manual
I would recommend this to a friend!

I made the mistake of buying before see the connectivity, only provides one HDMI input. Connect the cable TV or connect the Blu-Ray but not both.
Pros: Lightweight
Cons: Did not meet expectations, just provide one hdmi input
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Problem with mode

The mode will not remain in HDMI when you turn it off and then back on. This forces you to use 2 remotes to use the sound bar and the TV.
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: Did not meet expectations
