I am a hobbyist baker and my daughter and I spend many hours together baking. It's our thing. For Christmas, I received the Kitchen Aid pro stand mixer with the glass bowl. My daughter was over the moon. I have used it 8 or 9 times, treated it with great care, and never even washed it in the dishwasher. Yesterday while mixing buttercream for my daughter, Eve's coconut cake, the side of the bow cracked. My #1 assistant Eve was in the kitchen with me as usual, handing me measuring cups and throwing eggshells in the garbage. When the glass broke she jumped. Thankfully my daughter was not injured. To be frank, I am not sure what to do. But I will start with this review and end with this thought. I am disappointed with the kitchen aid glass bowl product. It is potentially dangerous.

Love the mixer but the bowl is junk

I bought this mixer 2 years ago and have only used a handful of times. I hand wash the bowl, but it’s now broken and I can’t use it. I see this is a recurring issue. Would not recommend since I can’t seem to get a replacement bowl.

So disappointed!

Was excited to get a bigger, expensive stand mixer, however, the glass bowl cracked while simply washing it in our sink. I am Nana to 5 kiddos and we bake together. SOO glad it broke while I was washing it-- not one of them. I wouldn't want them to get cut. I tried to replace the bowl with a metal one but the mixer attachments don't reach the bottom. I always have flour left unblended in the bottom. Additionally the metal bowl doesn't click into place correctly. I have found myself resorting to using my old hand held mixer. I don't want the kids to use that so it limits how we bake now. So sad! We are unable to use the mixer until I purchase I a new bowl.

I was given this mixer as a gift a couple of years and my bowl just broke. I am very disappointed at the price of what a replacement bowl costs.

Extremely Dissapointed with Quality

This bowl is not in line with the quality I associate with KitchenAid products. I loved my five qt mixer and decided to upgrade to the 6-qt. The glass bowl was a unique feature that I thought would be fun to use. After only 6 months of careful use and handwashing, the bowl cracked from the inside. Sadly, I cannot use my mixer until I get a replacement. No Bueno!

Sad and Disappointed

After reading through reviews I now know I am not alone. I had an almost identical situation as another reviewer. The side of my bowl cracked and broke off about three inches as well because the beater tapped it. I’m guessing this is common? Nonetheless, I’ve been on a desert pet search to find a replacement bowl and have been unsuccessful. I’ve even tried to use other replacement bowls just to see if I could get lucky but no. It seems like they aren’t going to be restocking. At this point I’m truly disappointed because this was such a good mixer I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT and now I can’t even use it. Ugh.

Great mixer but glass bowl cracked

I have the pro 600 design for 2 years & absolutely love this mixer. However, the bowl has cracked and I can't find a replacement bowl. I only wash the bowl by hand so nothing can damage it, and it just cracked on the lip of the bowl while mixing the dough in side the bowl . Now, I'm unable to use this mixer which is very upsetting!
I would recommend this to a friend!
