Glass breaks ridiculously easy

I've had my stand mixer for a few years and I'm now in search of my 3rd replacement glass bowl! The first time it broke I was making cookies and tapped a utensil on the side of it - not too hard- and I didn't expect it to crack and break like it did. Today I pulled my mixer out of the closet- I keep it on a utility roll cart- and it is severely broken and cracked. Who knows what happened to it! It was fine when I used it a few weeks ago. As others have mentioned, it is disappointing how easily it breaks for it to be so large and heavy. I'll likely purchase a stainless bowl to use until the glass is available again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Don't buy without researching first

I bought this 6 quart lift stand mixer. I was so excited to finally have my own kitchenaid, I fondly remember my grandmother using hers. I was getting a bottle of cinnamon out of my cupboard and dropped it and it hit the side of my glass bowl and shattered a corner off. Now it's practically impossible to get a replacement. I wish I would of known this before I purchased this. So disappointing.

Shouldn't be so hard to replace

I am having the same problem as everyone else it seems. I used my brand new kitchen aid 1 time, and then my mother broke the glass bowl and I have not been able to replace it. I don't even need it to be a glass bowl, considering how hard it seems to be to find them and how easily they are broken, but it's hard to know whether any of the metal bowls will fit this model, and I don't want to waste the money on something that won't work. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because the one time I got to use it, it was awesome.

Truly a shame this company has not provided their customers the service of making replacement bowls available. This is such a great product... But it only lasts as long as the bowl!

Could be better

I bought this mixer 7 years ago and I now have time to really use it since I'm retired. It is very frustrating that the attachments (whisk, paddle etc.) do not reach the bottom of the bowl. Do you all plan on having longer attachments? Also when are you going to have replacement bowls. You make beautiful ceramic bowls with patterns/designs for the other mixers but nothing for the F series.

Owned for 5 months before cracking

A glass jar fell from my kitchen cabinet and landed on the edge of my new KitchenAid's 6 quart glass bowl and broke off a large chunk of glass. I'm devastated that I cannot use my mixer and there are no glass replacement bowls.

Love my 6 at stand mixer BUT

I have had my 600 professional lift stand mixer since I got it last year for Christmas. Today, after mixing the dough for bread, I washed the bowl. As I dried the bowl, I noticed a chip and small crack in the bowl. Then I tried to find a replacement....out of stock...can't be found... seems like this is a common concern from all of the reviews... I love my mixer but I ought to be able to find a replacement glass bowl! Some things just can't be mixed in a stainless steel bowel!
I would recommend this to a friend!
