Excellent temperature control adn easy to use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband bought this to make products with beeswax and it works very well to gradually melt the wax and mix in the other ingredients. Easy to use and cleans easily. A good investment for a small home business working with wax.

Not sure it is usual, but the unit puts off an odor that smell like some industrial agent is burning; tis occurs when first used and later when thoroughly cleaned and tested.
Also, there is lots of information about tempering chocolate, but non on cooking rice or simple vegetables.
Cannot find this information when searching manuals.
Thirdly, the buttons on control panel are confusing

I saved the catalog I saw this in and bought it 6 months or so later and happy I did! Great concept to have a warming bowl that attaches to the mixer or will stand alone. It is good for fondue and excellent for keeping chocolate warm to drizzle on cookies or candy dipping. Kitchenaid is fabulous!

I am a chocolatier and have been using the big, bulky machine that runs on light bulbs and fans. It has always been off my a few degrees which is critical in tempering chocolate. Along came this Precise Heat Mixing Bowl and I ordered it immediately! First time using it I had perfectly tempered chocolate. Quickly, easily and was able to hold the precise temperature throughout my working day. My goal is to get two more bowls so I can have all my milk, dark and white chocolates ready at any time. Outstanding attachment! Bravo, Kitchen Aid!

Great for Tempering Chocolate

Used it twice, both times the chocolate was tempered perfectly. Used my temp settings. Did not use the auto temper settting built into the unit.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got this sweet little bowl a week ago and I am finding things to do with it almost daily. I love that you can use it on your mixer or stand alone. using it with chocolates I am able not to worry about cooling down.

I was imaging a bowl like this when I was making Caramel last Saturday, but unfortunately the bowl doesn't even heat to a soft ball stage 240. I wish it would heat a little higher, then it would take some of the watching out of candy making.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
