Would not buy GE downdraft

We purchased the prior generation--three whole years ago. Now we have to buy a new one because GE will not support with parts. Why do I need parts? This vent has worked half of the time we have owned it. Now the motor housing is broken and I cannot repair. Stunning.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love this hidden downdraft

I like being able to have the downdraft vent out of the way until I need it. It is then easy to use the remote control and bring it up and into action. It is easy to use and to clean.

This products works as expected but it was a challenge to install. We did it ourselves...should have paid extra money to have an expert install it.

Nice look in old kitchen

We installed this unit as part of a kitchen remodel in an old kitchen that had never before had an installed vent unit. We selected a downdraft unit due to the low ceilings and kitchen design. So far, the unit seems relatively quiet and sturdy and does not exhaust all the heat from the adjacent propane cooktop.

This is the perfect item to have when you don't want a big ventilation hood in the middle of your kitchen. Pops up for use and hides away when not needed.

I'm on my 3rd one

Motor dies so product stops working. I just replaced it for third time. GE App repair comes out with band aids then poof its done!!!!!
Poor support, poor product. I'm selling home, it'll be somebody else's problem in 366 days.
