Wow factor plus it works!

While I don't do a lot of super heavy cooking (extended frying, braising) I have found this unit to work just fine for my normal stove top cooking. I have observed it pullng steam and light grease spatter from the front burners The icing on the cake is the clean, sharp appearance (and disappearance).

Not Very efficient on the front Burners, Suggest a location between the front and back burners for more even venting!

Great in an island

Love the telescoping vent so much better than overhead hoods. Give my kitchen a wonderful, clean, open look. Works great. Very quiet. Tucks away out of sight when not in use. Had the same style in my old kitchen. Never considered anything else when renovating my new kitchen.

Profile downdraft

I have had this downdraft for 3 months and am not very happy. Does not always come on when it pops up. repair ma came and it has improved, but must call again as I have encountered another problem. Doesn't do a great job drafting unless on back burners. Had to get a new system as my old stove top died and had to replace down draft too as it was a complete unit. I miss my old downdraft. However I had to have a downdraft due to location and this product works better than nothing.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Vents only about 30% of the steam and smoke from cooking on the front burners and about 50% on the back. Cooking at high heat for braising or frying is practically impossible. Since back burners are smaller and more difficult to work with large pans, back burners are not an option.

I love this downdraft! It usually wows anyone that sees it in action! I love the remote too! Cleaning is pretty simple.

I love the look of the vent and when it works it is really cool! However, I expected it to be problem free for at least a few years not a few months! I am glad GE has a great warranty. That is easy to schedule.

Bought this product a few months ago so have not had it very long. It looks great and is a fun part of the kitchen. I really like having an alternative to the bulky overhead fans. It fits perfectly with our GE stovetop. Not the most powerful fan, but it is enough.
