Just what I needed

I was replacing a downdraft radiant cooktop with an induction cooktop. While a few models of radiant cooktops are available with a downdraft vent incorporated into the design, an external downdraft is needed for the induction cooktop. This GE Downdraft Rangehood is perfect. It telescopes up when needed and telescopes down after cooking. This raising mechanism is very quiet. The vent is barely audible at almost all speed settings. Finally, the appearance of the GE Downdraft Rangehood is classy.

Great vent, but inconvenient controls

I am happy with the performance of this vent. Multiple speeds and fairly quiet, but it was difficult to find an appropriate place to mount the control buttons. It turned out that my contractor found a way to mount it inside the cabinet.. but, I would have preferred to have integral to the vent itself.
I would recommend this to a friend!
