It's a vent

Great appearance but pulls heat from gas cook top

First time using one of these retracting vents. I do like the fact that it doesn't show when not in use, and is quiet on the lowest setting. But on a higher setting, it seems to pull the heat from the flame of the gas cook top.
I would recommend this to a friend!

That is what everyone says when I show them my new kitchen appliances especially the downdraft setup. It was easy to install and works great with my GE cooktop.

We just installed the unit and the filter cover is very flimsy. It is only connected in the center so both ends are not secure to the unit. It is quiet but the upper part of the unit seems cheap.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Quiet!

We just did a complete overall in our kitchen and we included this down draft system. We love it! It is quiet and does what it supposed to do and we love the fact that it tucks away nicely in our island when not in use.

Very smooth operation with a pretty quiet motor. I love that there are 4 fan speeds. The installation of the switch must be mounted to make sure that the wire contact doesn't move; otherwise, the unit doesn't operate.
