We liked the look of this kettle and the size was perfect for the two of us. However, we could not get rid of the metallic taste even after two months. We have stopped using it and we are going to return it and buy something else.

This kettle is small, barely enough for two mugs of coffee or tea and requires a refill every time. There is no outside gauge to determine water level, and the inside water level is difficult to see. Like other users I’ve found this kettle develops scale very quickly, but I haven’t experienced the issue related to plastic odour. After just over two weeks of use the kettle is noisy. And the paint finish under the lid is already eroding so I’m not convinced of it lasting much longer. I’m really not happy with this kettle and expected better of Kitchenaid

I bought this because it had a lid that could not fail. Other kettles have lids that operate with the press of a button and pivot/open gently. Unfortunately, these often fail and are not repairable. I wanted to avoid this issue so looked for a product that offered a removable lid that should never fail. Here it is. The only criticism I have is that is noisy as it boils the water….. more noisy than previous purchases…. But not a big issue.
