200 degree limit!

Having purchased the Cafe cooktop as a top end appliance for our new house a year ago, we have been both pleased and disappointed. The cooktop Blu-Ray temperature probe was a great disappointment. Being limited to 200 degrees makes it worthless for many projects, esp. candy making. In addition to it being limited, there are no alternatives that tie into all of the built-in features. This disappointment followed the realization that we had to replace all of our cookware that would not work on the induction cooktop.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Useless

I could never get this to work with my Cafe smart range. I wasted money on this thing. It doesn’t even charge. It’s been sitting in my kitchen cabinet collecting dust for four years now.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Response from geappliances.comBy DevinGE_AppliancesApril 3, 2024
The probe uses Bluetooth technology to communicate directly with the cooktop to maintain the temperature you set between 100-200 degrees F. We want to assist you further so you can utilize the probe, so an agent is going to be reaching out to you directly via email to gather some information. Please respond at your earliest convenience.

Hard to pair, then works fine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a terrible time paring this with the range. I have to re-pair each time. That said, once it is connected it works just fine.
