Wonderfull Upgrade

I recently lost a primary hard drive in my development computer. This gave me the opportunity to research much better solid state drive (SSD). After researching the 850 series is reviewed as the most dependable SSD there is, which is much higher in value than pure benchmark numbers.
Pros: Durable, Lightweight, fast, price to gb
Cons: no mounting brackets
I would recommend this to a friend!

Awesome SSD. Great value. Works insanely fast. Pick one up if you are looking to upgrade or if you are building a new pc. (Put your OS and most used programs on it.)
Pros: Durable, Inexpensive, Lightweight, great slim form factor

I am blown away by this drive. Windows boots in about three seconds. Apps load instantaneously. I don't know how I lived without it.

Super fast

This is my 4th Samsung EVO SSD. I am very satisfied with all of them. This SSD is super fast, I bought it to replace my new laptop's hard disk, at a fraction of the manufacturer's SSD upgrade price, and I still have the original 2.5" HDD too. If I was upgrading my laptop to Samsung SSD, that laptop became much faster, the boot times are almost uncomparably faster with this SSD. Thank you Samsung for this great product. I would buy it again!

Fast but unreliable

I have had this drive for almost one year. Since day one this drive has been a little "flakey", occasionally not starting up. My laptop would give an error saying no boot device present. (No hard drive found!) Power cycling would bring it back.
Now these start up failures are becoming more frequent and have probably reached the 50/50 point, and trending towards total failure.
I am going to RMA it before it fails to start up at all.
Sorry to say I will not ever really trust the replacement as I really do not use my laptop that often and I doubt even one terabyte of data has actually been transferred on and off this drive.
I do not recommend buying these drives or any in the EVO series as they all probably suffer the same reliability issue.
Pros: Lightweight
Cons: Did not meet expectations, Poor quality
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This was a great choice for a boot drive instead of mechanical. Its fast, quiet and does what I want a drive to do. I use the mechanical for storage. Great job Samsung.

Replaced a dying WD Velociraptor 10000 RPM Drive and the difference is amazing! Used to take 3-4 minutes to boot, now about a minute. Everything seems faster.
Pros: Inexpensive

iMac Upgrade

Installed the 850 EVO as an upgrade in my 2011 iMac and the performance increase was spectacular! Feels like a new machine. Very fast loading and app startup. Great value for the money.
