My second Samsung SSD

Hi all!
This ssd is Light, good looking, fast, reliable and cold!
In comparison to else ssd that i have, zero coil noise! Nothing!
I use it on SATA II and windows 7 64-bit, Greate performance!
Samsung Magician will let you feel the king of the ring, just enable RAPID MODE and you will feel the boost. Also, try OS OPTIMIZATION, be careful with those options.. For me, "maximum reliability" cause crashes because the reduction in PAGE FILE size. I enlarge it and everything is excellent.
My previous samsung ssd is 128GB evo 840. And i'm waiting to the next.
The amazing thing is better performance
while reduce production costs. ;)

Definitely fast, but a little power hungry for an SSD.

This was an upgrade from a SanDisk Ultra Plus 256.
The capacity is much better for me. 500GB goes a lot further than the 256GB I had before.
The speed is somewhat faster for large file transfers, and mine actually delivers 505MB/sec read and 465MB/sec write with large files (>20MB). IOPS benchmark about 40% higher than I had before.
Real world I can't tell any speed difference between this drive and my old SanDisk, although occasionally my boot times climb into the 20+ second range (running a 2.2/3.2GHz i7-3632QM on HM76 chipset, 16GB DDR3-1600 999-24, and 1TB secondary HDD, Win7x64). Normally boot time is about 15sec; It was 14.1sec every time with the previous SSD.
Power consumption in my laptop has also gone up considerably. With the previous SSD my battery life was a consistent 9h30m, now it is about 5h. (Both run times with brightness at max, surfing the internet only.) Standby power consumption is supposed to be very low, but when have you known Windows to leave the boot drive alone long enough for that to be effective?

Overall, though, considering the capacity benefits I would definitely recommend this SSD as a great upgrade item. And if you are upgrading from a hard drive you could expect your battery life to increase significantly.
** Note that the Design rating only got 4 stars due to the significant power increase over my previous SSD. Some increase was expected, but not this much.

Glad I added this ssd...

When I built this pc a couple of years ago I installed a 830 series Samsung drive as well as a 24 inch Samsung monitor. Both still run like champs, but I needed a bit more hard disk space.
So I added an 850 EVO series and could not be happier.
Both drives a fast and reliable.

Makes my computer new again

The boot time is reduced to a third of what it was before. There is no lag in programs. It boosted my seven rating from 5.9 to 7.9 in the drive category. I have a overall rating of 7.6 Due to my graphics card. I have a dell precision Dual quad zeon processors and 32 gigs of ram. This hard drive has unlocked the performance I could not get before. It is the best upgrade for your money. I would recommend this to everyone. The samgung magician app. Will help you to get the most out of your settings.

There was a weak link in my computer and the HDD was it! So I got a Samsung SSD and it didn't just double my speed, it quadrupled it. Amazing on how fast everything on my computer is now.

This SSD disk provides incredible reading/writing speeds. It takes only 5-6 seconds for my laptop to boot and about the same time to shut down.
I strongly recommend this SSD 850 EVO 2.5" SATA III 250GB to anyone who wants to be able to start using their PC almost instantaneously.

Best upgrade

Used on a dual core laptop with Windows 10. OEM drive made the computer run very slow. Watching videos was choppy and accessing data and internet was disappointing. Cloning the PC drive to the Samsung SSD was extremely easy and fast. Instead of wanting to buy a new Laptop, the price of the SSD compared to a new computer with a faster CPU is no longer a consideration. I have upgraded all of my desktops to Samsung SSD. Even the fastest Corei7 gets dramatic performance improvement. Creating DVDs in half the time, editing video quicker. Now when GIGABIT internet speed becomes available, I wont need the expensive "cable TV".
