We bought our freezer in the summer of 1960 and it has been in continuous service except for a 2 year period while it was in storage. The freezer has required no service, some time in the 70s we painted it to match our other appliances.

We purchased this freezer about a month ago and are really concerned as it runs over 50% of tnhe time even though it is opened only once a day. We have lower the temp setting from the recommended #4 to about #2.5 as it would run constantly on the 4. We have a 25 cu. Ft. next to it and it is set on -10 degrees and is opened 2-3 times a day and only runs about 1 hour per day. It is not an amana.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
