Having bought this freezer a couple of months ago, I have been very pleased with it. It does what it is supposed to do, keeps things well frozen and fits in a fairly small space for the 18 cu.ft size. I would gladly recommend this freezer to anyone.

I was concerned that our old freezer was using a lot of energy so I bought a meter to measure KWH. The old freezer was using about 1400 KWHs per year which is about four times what it should!
I bought the Amana freezer based upon the dimensions where it would fit in our garage, the interior features and energy consumption. It fit perfectly and I loaded all of the contents from the old freezer with room to spare. The last test was to plug it into the meter and see how much energy it would use. As of just now it has been on for 983 hours and has used 40.32 KWH of electricity. That means that in one year it will use approximately 359 KWH, well below what the Energy Guide estimate that was posted on the freezer! This freezer is using 25% of the power that the old one was and that is keeping our electricity bill from going into third tier usage, the most expensive tier.
I'm very happy with this appliance and would recommend it to anyone.

I thought it was made in the USA, but I cannot find where it states this??? I wish it were bigger. Now that I have it, the freezer is not ample size for myself and my husband. If I had a bigger family, it would not work at all. It does not freeze as cold as it should.

Good, Effective, Reasonably Priced Upright Freezer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this particular freezer for two reasons the relatively narrow dimensions (we were putting it into a fairly cramped space) and because the door had to open with the hinges on the left. Very few have reversible doors and most freezers have the hinges on the right.
This freezer was rather large in volume (18 cu ft), nice and narrow (just over 30"), has reversible door, and was very reasonably priced. It's a little basic but it works well so far and suited our needs very well

Frost Free is the Only Way to Go!

I bought this as a replacement for another older model and I absolutely love it. I have 2 other freezers as we live a subsistence lifestyle so need functional, working freezers. I love the lights; they are brighter than any others. The door opens and closes so easy with hardly a pull.
