Spacious But Noisy

I bought this in July to replace a 14 yr. old Kenmore equal in size (also made by Whirlpool). This compressor is much noisier and so is the ice maker when it drops the ice and goes back to its orig. place. It also makes a knocky sound at other times. Not sure if this is normal for this model or if a service call is needed. The cubes are not always whole when dispensed and because they are so small, it waters down your drink quickly. Also, they tend to pop out of the glass onto the tray or floor. The dispensed "cold water" is warm for the first couple ounces and then is cold. Whirlpool needs to refine these issues as my previous model was not this way. I do love the spacious interior of both fridge and freezer and it does keep things well frozen and cold. LED lighting is great.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Plenty of Light

I bought this to replace my 24-year-old Whirlpool that was still running good. When its ice-maker started to leak 5-6 years ago, I got it repaired. When it leaked a 2nd time, I decided to get a new Whirlpool.Having the ice-maker on the door does make it louder than my other one, but it is easy to remove to get all the ice at one time.The only thing I don't like is how little pieces of ice come out along with the ice cubes. You just have to hold your glass higher up to get it all. Interior lighting is great--I can see in the veggie bins. I like the placement of the filter--no need to pull the refrigerator out from the wall. Nice and cold. I really like the silver-looking handles. All black ones are just too much black.

I bought this a month ago and am unhappy with the way the refrigerator door swings open and both doors stay cold on the outside. Seems like it isn't very energy efficient if both doors are cold to the touch.

36 inch Wide Whirlpool Side by Side Refrigerator

We were replacing our old Whirlpool 36" Side by Side which we really liked. The new one is the equivalent of the old unit. New unit has ice maker design changes as well as the interior door and shelf arrangement.Shelves are deeper which is great. We are very happy with the new unit and hope to get many years of use out of it.

I cant believe the quality and roominess of this frig, the ice maker makes ice on the spot and it's easy on electricity my energy bill has actually gone done since I replace the old frig. Good job whirlpool...;)

Great Side by side

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this about a month ago. I love the side by side. It gives more room in the refrigerator with the ice maker located in the freezer. So far it has been what we wanted and expected.
