Lasted 1 Month

I purchased this product with the hopes it would last me quite a bit of time. Almost 1 month to the day I received it, the fridge stopped cooling, the water stopped dispensing and the ice wasn't being made anymore. A serviceman came out and quickly identified the problem, but said the part is a special order that would take 7 - 12 business days. My fridge was already dead for a week when he came out and that means at least another 2 weeks before its fixed. All my food spoiled and I had just went shopping. I will never buy a Whirlpool again.

Rusting after less than a year
on July 15, 2020

We bought this new last August and it's rusting less than a year later. Some spots are where you would predict rust like under the water dispenser (although we aren't intentionally letting any water sit on it, after less than a year water that drips down the door and rusting doesn't seem like a good quality stainless steel), on the edge where the plastic tray for the water meets the door, (you couldn't clean in there if you wanted it. It doesn't come out) and other spots have bigger rust issues, like the inside edge of the freezer door. I wouldn't recommend this if you want it to look nice for long. I wouldn't recommend this if you have kids. I wouldn't recommend it at all. Besides the rust, you have to push really hard to get the water dispenser to work. So hard that softer sided plastic cups start to push the sides in before the water comes out.

Review of Side by Side Refrigerator

The ice tray on the inside of the door does not work well at all. It gets caught when closing it very often. A serviceman was sent out to examine it and his solution doesn't work either. It's probably just this one because other people have it and it works. But I would never choose it again. Also, all the trays feel cheap and shelves frost up. And this was not the cheap model.

Refrigerator Wont' Cool Lower than Mid-50s
on October 9, 2019

We love the size and styling of this refrigerator, but ours seems to be a lemon. We had it installed, brand new, on 9/17/19. We waited patiently for it to cool and to create ice (we had read that ice is slow in this one, and that is true).
After about a day the freezer was working great. In fact, it seemed to be over-cooling, as frost was developing inside it, which seemed odd. More concerning, however, was the refrigerator portion. It just didn't seem as cold as it should be...certainly not the 35 degrees that I had asked it to cool down to.
We waited several days, thinking it was just our imagination, but sure enough, a thermometer we placed inside confirmed that it's only cooling to about 55 degrees. We contacted Whirlpool service, since it's obviously under warranty being less than a week old, and they arranged for a service tech to come out several days later.
The service tech was friendly, but the best answer he could provide was that the rubber gasket around the freezer door wasn't working properly, allowing outside air to seep into the freezer portion, thus causing the frost. His suggestion was to wait another week to see if the problem fixed itself.
I found that solution rather ludicrous after having the new product failing for 10 straight days and our already having to toss most everything from the refrigerator for safety reasons. I waited a day and called back. After a near 40-minute wait on hold, the person I talked to seemed disinterested in my problem and just scheduled another service call in five more days, which will make more than two weeks since we received the faulty fridge.
This is our first whirlpool appliance, and I can't say I can imagine being any more disappointed that I already am. I guess we'll wait to see what the two week mark brings when the tech comes back out.

Have always had whirlpool appliances. The first refrigerator delivery arrived with dented doors. Got a replacement that worked well for about a week and a half. Condenser fan motor now sounds as if the fan blade is hitting something. I am calling for a repair. Microwave needed repair in the first months but range works perfectly. Never experienced this before from Whirlpool.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our 16+ year old refrigerator had the ability to place the internal shelves in any configuration we needed. This new model only allows for a very limited configuration. Also, the main light of the refrigerator is in the front middle of the top shelf wasting valuable tall item space. We can't even fit a pitcher of water on the top shelf.

Nice Fridge. runs fairly quiet. very roomy.

I have had this fridge only about two months and so far I have been pleased with it. It operates pretty quietly, quieter then the one it replaced anyway. The design is nice with very roomy shelves. The controls are a bit confusing but not bad once you figure them out. It is cool how it dispenses a measured amount of water. The only problems I have had so far were figuring out the controls and I don't like how short the top fridge shelf is. I can't fit a gallon bottle up there but all the other shelves were fine. But no major problems and so far I like it better then the frigidaire it replaced.
