Compressor issues
on June 22, 2012

I have this unit and loved it last summer as it was a reliable workhorse cooling my bedroom. We just purchased and returned two of the 13k BTU units for my workplace as the compressors were shutting down prematurely. Now my formerly beloved 11k unit is doing the same thing. I let it rest and cool off for awhile and it still only works as a fan. A very expensive fan in a heatwave. Just less than one year old, with only one season under its belt, now I am here at LG looking for a repair facility. :-(

This product is fantastic

I bought this air conditioner, took it out the box, and set it up about a month ago, and it has done a great job of keeping my living room/kitchen cool. It is one of the best investments I have made and hasn't raised my electricity bill but very little if any. I will have to say you cannot find a better deal than this.

Great Performance.

This unit runs very quietly on low fan speed with the compressor on, 50dBA to be exact at 6 feet away, beating LG's claim of 55dBA. Cools the room down very well, but a little slower than first thought given the power. Quality is top notch, and the Star Treck LCD remote is superb. We also have the new LG 7000 BTU cooling the second bedroom leaving the door open to remove hot spots. Both are excellent products indeed.

Good cooling, hard to empty water
on June 3, 2013

We've owned this model for a year. It does a good job of cooling and can also be used as a dehumidifier and even a fan. Fairly easy to install. If it's very humid and you use it 12-16 hours/day, or if using as a dehumidifier, you'll need to empty the water out of the bin once or twice daily. The only realistic way to do this is to drag the large, unwieldy, 65-lb thing outside to let it drain. There is no removable bin and the drain plug is at the very bottom of the machine, so you can't place a bucket under it to drain it. It's a miserable task. Other than that, we love that it has many setting options to get exactly what you want out of it, especially being able to set it at an exact temperature.
Pros: Performance, Features/Settings

This air conditioner is very handy. I can move it from room to room if needed, but it comfortably cools up to 3 rooms in my apartment. Very pleased with this product. Would definitely recommend to others.

Really Fine Cooling Solution
on March 4, 2016

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We live in Souther Arizona. We have 7 mos. of Summer. It's March 4 and we've had 3 days 90+ temps already. The unit adds Very Fine cooling to our 350sq.ft. room addition, which had minimal cooling because of the distance from the refrigeration unit/inability to have adequate duct work available. This unit keeps the room VERY comfortable - I've recomended it ALOT!

Worked for one summer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] You'd expect a unit like this to last five to ten years, but only lasted a few months. Installed it again this year after very gentle storage and it no longer cools. Measured the exact same 84° as the room temperature.

Form factor and design much nicer than other portable AC units. Fulfills functional expectations for this type of appliance. A little noisy. Easy to set up.
