AN AWFUL PIECE OF DESIGN

This LP111WXR is the most ineptly designed product I've encountered in a long time. There is what amounts to a hole at the bottom on the side from which one is to drain condensation -- something which one must do frequently. The problem is that to do this, one has to "install a drain hose" -- not included -- and move the machine -- which is very heavy -- to some appropriate location to drain it! Worse, to get the machine to drain properly, one has to tip the thing onto its side -- a two person process, assuming the two people are able-bodied. Otherwise, you're just out of luck! LG could have easily included a removable container for the water. This is a really lousy piece of engineering. If I'd known what a shoddy machine this was, I would have never bought it. Based on this experience, I will never buy an LG product again.

Works better and quieter than my window units

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this because the price was right and my Windows in my attic/bedroom are to small to fit a window unit. After using this for 2 months I like it better than my other units. It is quieter and seems more efficient than my window units. And I can still use the window when I don't want to run the a/c. I will definitely buy another as replacements for my window units.

We are using it in a building inside of a warehouse. It can get up to 100 degrees plus in the warehouse. So far when its been in the lower 90's it has kept the building at 74. It does run 100% of the work day to keep it there though.

Good Air Conditioner While it Worked

Bought this summer of 2012 and it just went out at the start of 2014 Summer. Compressor gave way. Cheaper to buy another Air Conditioner than trying to fix this

I bought this unit just a little over a year ago, not using it very much since we live way up north next to the Canandian border. I turned it on one hot day this week when it was very muggy and it seemed like the compressor had gone. I did have to run it a few times before this with no problem. I thought WTH but turned it back on today after checking and cleaning everything and now it seems to run fine. As in other reviews I think that the compressor seems to be rather weak in very muggy days. I bought this because I THOUGHT that LG would be a reliable air conditioner because that make so many other appliances that are reliable, now I'm not so sure!! This will more than likely be my last LG appliance!!!!!

Bought unit for our bedroom so we don't have to run the whole house A/C all night long because of the wife's allergies. works great and cools the bedroom in a short period of time, was easy to install and to operate. I insulated the air discharge tube to keep the 115 degree temperature from radiating into the room, it also made it quieter than it already was, and maintains the temperature closer to what it's set at. Even before adding the insulation it worked great.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality
