I could manually a 1099-B to the software so I had to adjust one of the imported records.
What's not so great: SW Glitch not able to add a new company after doing one import

Happy for many years!

As with all tax preparation, the responsibility to collect all receipts and documents is upon the filer - but TurboTax makes it very simple to do at home and take your time if needed.
Note to TurboTax: in the 2015 version premier, under the "we've got health care covered", there is a typo "Visit out health care guide..."
What's great about it: Easy, step by step
Pros: I had a baby, I bought or sold investments, My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Using TurboTax for the sale of a rental property.

I don't know how many years I've been using TurboTax but I have copies going back to 1990, and I'm sure that I used it before 1980. I've always been pleased with TurboTax in the past. It's been a pleasure to use. I've even switched from a PC to a Mac a few years ago with almost no problems.
But this year I sold a rental condo that we bought new in 1980 and all those records were in TurboTax, so I thought there would be no great problem.
I quickly ran into the problem of the difference between the PC program and the Mac program. Then I found that the Share Screen that TurboTax uses wouldn't work with my Mac. So I started insisting that anyone helping me be a Mac user. That helped.
Then I found that the Experts one gets when calling in didn't know anything about the sale of rental property. Finally I started getting help from people who both knew Mac's and sale of rental property. They could even explain what was supposed to happen.
Somewhere along the way I decided that I would have to file for an extension, which took the pressure off. I finally finished preparing my return in September and filed it today (9/10/2016). I hope that everything is correct. I feel pretty good about it now. I sold another rental condo this year snd am hoping that it goes a whole lot better this time.
What's great about it: I did work, finally.
What's not so great: I couldn't figure out how to enter the info. for the sale of a rental property that we owned for about 30 years.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

TURBO TAX 2015
on September 12, 2016

I like
turbo Tax especially since it saves my info from year to yar. I also like the fact that much of the detailed info needed can be imported directly from the source.
I HATE - In order to efile you need an intuit ID. this always seems to be problematic and since every year I usually resort to a new ID the problem gets worse and worse. I write down the ID / PW but to no avail. Further adding to the confusion are the IDs for quicken and quicken bill pay.
What's great about it: IMPORTS, TYPED, AUTO CALCS, RUNNING TOTAL
What's not so great: NEED INTUIT id TOEFILE.

Trouble-Tax for dual UK and Usa Citizen
on September 12, 2016
Posted by: UKTaxman
I spent mandays on a simple tax return for my daughter who is a UK citizen. I found it difficult to figure out how to get the 1116 1116 alternate min tax and the 6251 Forms.
I initially got them created manually but could not enter or over write the data fields to get them to compute correctly
I redid several times from scratch and finally got a nearly perfect result by the step by step once I finally understood the details
The help system was not very helpful to figure things out but once i learned how the software did a nice job of showing the data source for inputs. Should be easy next year but was not for the first time
What's great about it: Step by step worked well once you know exactly what to do
What's not so great: Needed to manually force an 8965 Healthcare form

What's great about it: Guides were excellent
What's not so great: none
