Outstanding. Easy to use.

TurboTax made the initial stages easier by recovering all my personal data from previous years and then it permitted me to move quickly through the areas that were familiar. Whenever I was unsure, a touch of a button brought up explanations and guidance as if a tax expert were at my elbow so I was able to complete all forms and e-file more quickly than expected.
What's great about it: Walked me through all areas and explained confusing details.
What's not so great: IRS hasn't yet made my e-filed refund (28 days and waiting)

Tax happy after completion !

After using for several years, we found the product logical and easy to use. With familiarity, we can now skip some of the detail that is not applicable us. The one issue (we did have) was TurboTax could not link us to our prior tax years (so longer completion time). We will use next year as well ! Tax Happy 1 & 2
What's great about it: Quick pathways to guide me through various sections.
What's not so great: Could not seem to link up w/previous years done on TTax.

2013 Premier Tax Software
on May 8, 2016
Posted by: ALeeWALKUP
The preparation of federal and state returns with their ponderous exceptions and multitudinous forms would be nearly impossible without tax preparation software.
Some of the software questions and reference guidance instructions presume a greater knowledge and understanding of the tax forms than held by many tax filers. Abbreviations are frequently not explained, and directions presume a more intricate grasp of tax items than most people posses.
What's great about it: The electronic software directs entries automagically among the forms.
What's not so great: Some of the questions and guidance instructions are arcane.

Mixed Bag

I use this software because, on balance, it's less of a headache than doing it all on paper. It is, however, something of a time-waster in that a lot of steps need to be repeated ad nauseam. And having to enter a lot of detail, much of it unnecessary, regarding charitable contributions is annoying. Finally-- still not sure what went wrong -- I thought I had completed federal and state filing, only discovering that I hadn't when I began to wonder why my bank account hadn't been debited. I know the IRS can be slow, but not THAT slow. Will I use TurboTax again next year? I'm undecided.
What's great about it: Avoids using a lot of paper
What's not so great: Tedious and repetitive

Definitely appreciate the ongoing status review while conducting the process Also like the Turbo Tax advantage towards keeping ones tax filing as simple a process as is possible.
What's great about it: It provides the tools to approach your taxes with confidence.
What's not so great: Missed the running tally of owe or refund as progress through the process.

Worked through a penalty letter from the IRS to fixing an error which wiped out penalty through amending my 2015 return. I spoke with three different people over two sessions and all were excellent. You need to be commended for the support you provide.
What's great about it: informed-helpful and patient

Not print and send friendly

This was great for the Federal return. It was easy to find the section for Schedule A deductions to double check all deductions had been included, for example. The incredibly frustrating part was trying to select the forms for the state return to print and send without printing reams of paper.
What's great about it: Walks you through income catagories and deduction catagories
What's not so great: Hard to figure out which forms you need to print and send for state return.
