Can not efile extension. Does not allow me to add a statement and therefore can not efile. In previous years I could have done both of these things. Not as good as in previous years.

I find Turbo Tax pretty easy to use. It would be nice while viewing the tax return in "Forms" and find a mistake or something you want to change to be able to click on that line and have the cursor go to the "input page". Sometimes it is hard to get to a certain page if I don't know what section it is in.

Consistent and Peace of Mind

I've used Turbo Tax for many years, and it gives me a good sense of how my financial decisions affect my taxes, throughout the year. You don't have to plow through IRS documents to be sure you're on the right form, or if you're missing data.
I use Business with Personal Turbo Tax to make sure I can legally get the best tax situation. Last, I have a better understanding of my tax situation than when I pass it off to a professional. I can watch out for my best interest, throughout the year.
What's great about it: Same look and feel, year after year. Guided Q&A or Use forms directly
What's not so great: The help system is not too intuitive. IRS site is better for odd questions.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Handled capital gains on sale of rental property

It was nice just to be able to plug in the acquisition costs and sales info and costs and have TT do everything. The property was previously an 1031 exchange.
What's great about it: I just put the numbers in
What's not so great: had to review the actual returns for more details on calculations

What happened to Turbo Tax?

Dear Intuit,
I've used Turbo Tax since the 90's. What happened? Where are all the links to IRS publications from the key words & phrases that need clarification. Rental Houses are extremely painful for example- Why do I have to answer the same first 5 questions over and over before I can finally get to an overview of certain types of expense? Please provide an overview of everything with Rental Houses - like you do with the overall income/expenses big picture. Where did all the helpful interpretations go to help explain how I could save taxes as I fill out the forms? I will be exploring your competition next year because I need more helpful links.
What's great about it: Not so much
What's not so great: Not nearly as helpful as previous years.

The Essence of Simplicity

Once again Turbo Tax has risen to the challenge. This is probably the 15th year in a row I have used this product, and frankly I can not think of a reason I would want to change.
I always use the step-by-step process to be sure I do not forget anything, and it is amazing how most years there is something that I would say..."wow....forgot about that one..."
Keep up the great work. I always have full confidence that in using Turbo Tax I will not leave any money on the table, as it were, nor miss reporting items that need to be reported.
Thanks again for a GREAT product!
