waste of money and time

I needed to file a personal return AND a business return for my LLC (2 managers) so I bought premier and business (spent over $200) Found out the 2 programs are NOT COMPATIBLE, even though both are intuit Turbo Tax products. So I filed for an extension and will have to pay the tax man to prepare my returns. Don't waste your money to buy turbo tax if you need to prepare a business return.
What's not so great: premier and business turbo NOT COMPATIBLE with each other

It's the 21st Century - This should be easier

I've been using TurboTax for 16 years now but some things are driving me up the wall. I'll focus on AMT and Filing Status.
I paid AMT for my 2014 taxes and for 2015 TurboTax is saying I might save on my taxes for this year if I recalculate my 2014 AMT - seems easy enough but it requires TurboTax 2014 to be loaded onto my computer. I lost my 2014 disk so I can't do that so my alternative is manual which really means I'm not doing it. Here's how I see it, I paid for 2015 and if recalculation of 2014 AMT is part of 2015 filing then that should have been included in the software by default. I shouldn't need be asked by the software if I want to do this calculation, it should be done automatically - it's the 21st century...
Second issue and in my mind an even bigger issue. TurboTax made the wrong recommendation for filing status. It recommended that I file married filing separately where in reality I saved almost $200 by filing jointly. The only reason I caught that is because I manually calculated my taxes and my wife's taxes with different filing statuses. I try it married filing separately, married filing jointly and alternating our son as a dependent between my wife and I. Here is what I expect from software in the 21st century; TurboTax should take all of our information for my wife and I, run every permutation automatically and ONLY AFTER I submit all of the information tell me what my tax liability is for every single permutation and make a recommendation based on those results. Don't worry, I don't care if it's 400 permutations, I will read them all if it's laid out in a nice tabular format.
What's great about it: Does the simple stuff very well
What's not so great: Poor job determining filing status & AMT

Found the step by step to be okay but like to skip to the user directed process for review and edits. I really like the import of last years data and financial institutes data.
What's great about it: Good instructions
What's not so great: Cost to efile state
Pros: I bought or sold investments
