I have been a long time user of turbo tax. I found that this years was the fastest elapsed time for me. . I did not have stock grants to account for which helped.
What's great about it: did 1040 with schedules A,B &D with ATM calc in about 4 hours from a standing start. ( incliuding data collection)
What's not so great: None -everything was very straightforward
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I do like how you remember my depreciation and passive losses from last year. BUT, I get frustrated with Turbo Tax....I have multiple rental properties, and Turbo Tax won't remember answers to my questions from the previous year - so I have to go through the whole process all over again each year. PLEASE remember my answers from last year.
To enter expenses is FAR too difficult - there should be one screen to enter all expenses in a grid, and not have ot walk through 5 or 6 screen to enter the info.
What's great about it: Easy To Use
What's not so great: Does not remember answers from last year

I have used TurboTax since the first year it came out. I love the product it has always been great. There were a few years I did not like the interview process because if when slowing though a lot of things I didn't need to do. The have streamlined the questions so that only the relevant ones are the ones you go into. Great improvement. I enjoyed it so much I went to school to be a professional tax preparer to learn more about the complicated tax areas. I then went to work for three different "Named National Tax Preparation" Companies. Turbo tax still beat any of their programs hands down always. Been doing taxes for 20 years. TurboTax it the best.
What's great about it: I love the interview process now
What's not so great: Sometimes it is difficult to figure out where things go
Pros: I bought or sold investments

2 problems with the software, first, when entering K1 info, turbo tax had me proceed to filling out s corp info, which I didn't need, then it showed up as an error in the review process, I had to dummy up info, delete it and then save the return in order to have the software remove the error message. the other problem was when entering 1099B sales data. for those of us who have 100's of trades to enter, it would be much easier if after finishing one line you could just hit enter and get another line, instead the cursor goes all the way to the top of the page, and then you need to scroll down. hot keys would also be better.
Pros: I bought or sold investments
