Bring the cost down.
What's great about it: I like that it guides me thru everything, especially things I had forgotten were deductions.
What's not so great: Difficult understanding how to file storm damage loss.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

While doing taxes the application "unexpectedly quit" numerous times and lost data. In addition, I completed the return and then went to open and file electronically and was unable to edit, file, see, etc. anything in the file and had to redo all of it. I had such a horrible experience and used up so much extra time that I will not be using the product again.
What's not so great: Unexpectedly quit numerous times, could not reopen file after complete
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

my turbotax experience

I like to use Turbo Tax because it is self-contained and walks me through the steps one by one. I can choose how to proceed and I can review and revisit any category or entry to make changes or corrections.
What's great about it: It walks me through each step individually
What's not so great: I am not sure how miscellaneous income is figured, and once it is in there, there is no way to change or delete it.

over all - nice program, no ram crams like last years updates everyday issues.
What's great about it: Smooth
What's not so great: No option to do a TXF from my vendor left me a bit miffed
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Who likes taxes?

I started with my online account that I had for several years, I got married this year but my husband and I are still in different states because of this it was recommended to either download or buy the CD version, which allows for entering additional tax returns at no additional cost, only additional for state. I had a hard time trying to save the info from the online to the CD version but was eventually able to convert the return I started. I was playing around trying to find the best way to file and created another account for my husband. This triggered a security alert. Catherine in support was very friendly, helpful and answered my questions. I was glad to know that the security alert was triggered by my actions and not a fraudster, but pleased with the measures to detect are in place. I will continue to use Turbo Tax and hopefully next year will live in the same state as my husband.
What's great about it: Turbo Tax makes it easy, good security feature
What's not so great: A bit confusing for federal joint and separate states

Payment

I like that there are multiple ways to pay, particularly since I don't give anyone access to my bank accounts for any reason. Unfortunately, trying to pay by credit card was "trying". Multiple hang-ups and lock-outs. I had to start over 4 times. I think that the server may have been overloaded on tax day - but I started to try and pay about 5:45 PM. It took until 6:25 PM to finally get a payment through. A bit frustrating. Perhaps adding a bit more capacity at crunch times (like tax day) might help?
What's great about it: multiple ways to pay
What's not so great: hangups and delays
