Good product.
What's great about it: It does the calculations and supplies the correct forms.
What's not so great: Did not provide place to fill in IPPIN.

Instills confidence

Overall an excellent experience. One can be carried step by step, or be directly accessed if one knows the IRS term for the deduction. Search feature often provides very good directions to directly access the desired location, but may require the right "term". Flow of the step by step and automatic checks instills confidence that taxes have been done correctly and all deductions applied
What's great about it: Step by Step, automatically checks for missed deductions
What's not so great: Access to a specific deduction can require searching multipe key words

Gets better every year

Sometimes don't have all the information left and it would be great if there was an easier way to go back to a topic.
What's great about it: Easy to use, explanations are easy to understand
What's not so great: Getting back to change an input means you go through the entire easy-step process for a subject
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments, I moved

Great help for the uninitiated

I had not use TurboTax for a a long while, when I started using the 2015 edition I noticed
1. that the previously available extensive library is gone; in its stead, a simpleminded Q&A guide the filer.
2. an automatic cloud saving. These cloud savings have been subject to predatory snooping form the governments and everyone else, including Intuit

Unfortunately, I have a very easy tax filing. The data processing was easy and loved the ability to link to external accounts for information.
What's great about it: Fast, Easy. High confidence in calculations
What's not so great: Can be somewhat "black box." - Nature of the tax Code
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

My only problem with Turbotax is how partnership unit sales are handled. The entry of K-1 details is excellent, but in the sales portion of the interview, there is no clear means of reporting long vs short term sales. I have built an Excel template that allows me to properly compute and report cost basis adjustments in the brokerage section of income. In the same area of the sales interview, there is no clear way of reporting and separating ordinary gain from capital gains, perhaps causing TT to report incorrect information to the IRS. Not good....
What's great about it: Overall, very intuitive, clear, and helpful if one has a question
What's not so great: The sale of Master Limited Partnership Units needs work!!
Pros: I bought or sold investments
