Cannot edit state taxes

On the Idaho return, going back to edit any number requires going through all the questions over again the same as if you are starting the return from scratch. This is poor design; you should be able to go back and edit any value like you can for federal.
What's great about it: Federal program works well

VERY NICE WORK !!

Turbo Tax software was easy to use and very user friendly. It walked me through the process. I loved how it retrieved my tax info from brokers and banks and properly applied it to the appropriate sections of my return. The "Obamacare" portion could not have been easier. I am a CPA and am VERY satisfied with my results. I could not have done better myself!!! Thanks, Turbo-Tax!!
What's great about it: Finding my filing info from banks, brokers saved me having to type them all in.
What's not so great: Didn't care for being quizzed about forms I filed in previous tax year that were not relevant to current year
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Why do it any other way?

People ask why I do it myself, but to prepare everything for an accountant I would need something like Turbotax to get the data. At that point, I might as well just file.

i have used turbotax for years but i should have gone professional this because i sold stock and had trouble with unfilled blanks in some forms

What's not so great: itemized charity stuff too small selections

Fast and Easy Return!

The interview process makes sense and if you do a minimum of preparation by assembling documents you will need, it is a quick and painless process (except for the taxes you may owe).
What's great about it: Quick and painless questions.
What's not so great: No real issues or complaints.

Have used this program since forever

We've used this since it was MacInTax.....many many years. Works well, transfers from the previous year, can see forms which we sometimes need, and switching between the easy screens and forms is quick and easy. This time when I tried quick zoom a few times it didn't work - not sure why. Also when entering more complicated situations the wording and numbering on the software wasn't always the same as on the printed forms. Despite these minor issues, we will stick with TurboTax.
What's great about it: reasonably easy, can see forms or easy step
What's not so great: tax forms and software don't always match, quick zoom didn't always work
