Love the product Hate trying to get started every year - it is impossible to initiate this product easily each year. It seems to start off as though i have the wrong product or am unable to access the right product or am billed inappropriately...VERY AGGRAVATING AND DISHEARTENING!!!!
However, your support line put me in touch with Dorothy BOTH TIME I CALLED and THANK GOD!!! SHE WAS AWESOME AND SAVED THE DAY AND YOUR CUSTOMER! What a great help and patient lady! SHE DESERVES A RAISE and someone should buy her a coffee and lunch! Went way beyond basic good service!
What's great about it: Ease of use and Tech Support - DOROTHY ROCKS!!!!!
What's not so great: Getting started with the right porduct each year has BEEN A DISASTERRRR!!!!R

We have used TurboTax for the last 8 years and I've never had a complaint. I had trouble with a service code this year and the customer service was excellent
What's great about it: I love the guided assistance and the transfer of my info from previous years
What's not so great: nothing really
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

I have been using TurboTax for years and have convinced several family and friends to use it too and they all love it.

pretty complicated for the 'simple' way to file

I like that TurboTax remembers all the details, and takes care of some things for me, but if you make the effort and take the risk to diversify in your finances, you also run into complicated tax situations. TurboTax works great for my rental property, and makes it easy for stock sales, like from TDAmeritrade or similar online trading platform. And finally, it will import direct from lending club! But the new health stuff is confusing, with not only a new form to show you have coverage, but also a bunch new W-2 entries and another 1099 form for the HSA and high deductible program everyone is migrating towards. All the questions about foreign stuff were the worst to answer. A lot of this stuff some people just might not know. I wish TT would take the individual's financial knowledge level into account in determining how to ask the questions. It seems like that would be somewhat easier nowadays. Still way preferable to filing by hand, though.
What's great about it: knows all the little tricks and forms
What's not so great: the average joe (like me) will still have no clue about some of these questions

Easy and fast!

my family and I use Turbo tax every year. It is so simple and organized. Very easy to understand and use. We always get a great return back. Would never use anything else!
What's great about it: Easy to understand, fast, easy to read, explains all areas so their is no confusion

Harder this year

1) On program startup, I allow it to update. Then it gives a button to continue. When I click the button, it never starts, I have to double click the icon again. This happens EVERY time. (Windows 7)
2) You need to include how the refund, etc. should be handled BEFORE you click the FILE Taxes. OR There should be a window explaining BEFORE you file taxes that this is the case. I waste nearly 2 hours every year with this.
3) Had to buy Windows 7 just to do taxes. The other companies still support earlier versions of windows.
