Easy

I've been using TurboTax for a long time. Even when my tax situation is more complicated, it doesn't get harder.
What's great about it: always comparing to last year so I don't forget anything
What's not so great: emphasis on the refund; a tax free loan to the government. Emphasize minimizing overpayment instead.

Perenial Good Tax Solution

TurboTax has been my tax solution for many years now and will likely stay that way. In general, it's a great solution and is easy to use and accurate. One minor annoyance is that after I chose not to e-file my state returns (there was no point in paying for that) the application chose not to actually print my state return information. This was consistent across our joint return and both of my daughters' returns.
What's great about it: Easy to use and accurate
What's not so great: Too much "selling" and didn't automatically print State returns after I chose not to E-File them.

An Apparent Flaw

As good as in past several years, with re-assuring step-by-step and escape to and from forms as needed. Nice to be able to go to and fro other points in steps and/or forms reliably.
I could not get the worksheet for describing donations of shares of stock to charities to work correctly. It asks for
original cost, which I think is technically not necessary, and then uses whatever is entered there as the value of the donation! So I had to enter the present value as cost.

I hope others have caught this flaw. If they did not, maybe they have a claim against TurboTax's guarantee of correctness.
Worksheets for cash and non-cash donations should be completely reviewed, revised and extensively tested for real life situations that need to be recorded correctly.
What's great about it: Implementation agreeably familiar as with past years.
What's not so great: Surprising flaw for value of stock donaations to charities.

Used TT for 20 years

I've been using TT for more than 20 years. It is fast, convenient and secure. In addition, it can handle virtually any situation I have been able to throw at it. It is a great product.
What's great about it: Fast, easy, secure, complete
What's not so great: Only occasional issue with complicated situations
