Not as easy as it used to be

Although it attempts to address NY stat specific items, you have to go back and query what you want done with the refund. It allowed for applying to 2016, but there should be a prompt.
In states like NY where the state taxes are outrageous, there should be more attention paid to Prompting for the entry of NYS taxes as well as squarely addressing the MCTMT tax where an individual is a small business partner. When you can contribute to a 401k, the program assumes that you are the sole owner of the business and does not allow for a small business partner who gets a K1 to easily deduct the contribution.
What's great about it: Comprehensive and covered all of my situations
What's not so great: Not as helpful as I would have liked-didn't prompt for applying federal refund-Didn't address NY MCTMT tax deductibility

Keeping It Simple

I find Turbo Tax to be intuitive and user friendly (and forgiving).
Navigation is simple. I've used Turbo Tax for several years when I had numerous complications and deductions to, now that I'm retired, rather simple.

What's great about it: Easy to understand and proceed without a mountain of instructions.
What's not so great: Expensive to buy the software package.

No problems!

Painless way for me to do my taxes. Tells me what's needed and pretty much where to find it. Interfaces well with Quicken and Quick Books.
What's great about it: Extremely user friendly!
What's not so great: Hard to navigate in reverse.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Excellent, until the end

I have been using Turbo tax to do my taxes for over 20 years. As usual, this years filing was simple and easy to use. My only issue came at the very end, while trying to log into my TurboTax account to pay for eFiling of my State tax return.
My remembered password didn't work, so I used the option to send my password via email. When the email came in, it had a nice link to "Reset Password". Unfortunately, when that link was activated, it did not send me to a password change screen - it sent me back to the same screen offering to send me an email to change my password. This continued for 3 loops, until I gave up and just selected - sign in later.

I have used Turbo Tax for years and I hope to do so for many more to come. The confidence one has from using the software is priceless.
What's great about it: I like the simplicity of providing the requested information step-by-step. No need to be a rocket scientist.

SO DISAPPOINTED!!

I will NEVER use this service again! I have struggled for years with the problem of owning my own business in 2005, and being employed since 2006 in varying occupations. Turbo tax continues to keep that data and gives me error messages. You are wasting hours and hours of my time. JUST put in what I give you, such as W2s and 1099Rs. What is wrong with you!!!!!!!!!!!!
What's great about it: Turbo Tax has a good program for figuring out the value of your items donated to charities.
What's not so great: I have NOT had my own business since 2005, and TurboTax still puts this data in!

Great product

Just a comment imported tax forms and one of the forms did not import correctly. Went into forms view, entered the 0.00 amount from the pdf and it worked fine.
What's great about it: easily handles items in my return
What's not so great: just one comment did not pick up amended return info first time
