Good except K-1

K-1, Box 13, Code-T
Information on the K-1 for this does not 100% match the questions posed in the TurboTax Step-by-step interview. This made determining what to place in certain TurboTax boxes a long, drawn-out investigative process. Also, the answer that TurboTax placed in Form 8903 line 3 does not match up with the K-1 information and there is no explanation as to how it is derived, which is necessary if I am to have high confidence in the value placed there. The IRS document on the 8903 instructions is not much help either. Yet TurboTax did something in order to come up with that number. Why isn't the calculation made available with a right-click or an information box?
What's great about it: All the normal W-2, 1099 info handled easily.
What's not so great: K-1, Box 13, Code-T not handled well

I hate this time of year! Turbo Tax gets me thru it without the usual headaches and sleepless nights. Step by step guides remind me to go hunt for yet another piece of info, that I know I need. (Thank God for shoe boxes)
What's great about it: Easy to use, step by step guides, lots of help info.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

I might never have figured out to claim an over-payment to Social Security. I don't know if the plain IRS forms guide you on this.
Turbo Tax makes clear year-over-year comparisons so that the IRS can glance over the return in a second.
What's great about it: Easy and thorough
What's not so great: There are no glaring deficiencies

Only Game In Town

After 8 years of federal executive control by Democrats, Turbotax is now working for the IRS in an attempt to survive. The only interest of the IRS is to maximize revenues. Every year, it has gotten a little worse
For example, they now won't help you with obscure areas of the law to characterize your income as non-taxable, correct the basis of a capital investment, or determine whether a deduction is allowable.
Fortunately, Turbotax is still the best tax program remaining, and doesn't actually prevent you from entering the correct information, so you can research your entries on the Internet, but you are on your own. What alternative is there? None, unless you can afford a CPA.
What's great about it: Simplifies entry, calculation and filing
What's not so great: Does not help you anymore
Pros: I bought or sold investments

thanks for making it simple

It helps to reiterate adjectives of when or what is being explained/asked. For example if a section on depreciation is being explained, keep asking for the original purchase date year, or the unadjusted basis year, instead of just asking what "year". The redundancy will be tolerated when all is understood rapidly.
What's great about it: step-by-step process
What's not so great: Pre-explain interim saving the filing, and/or interim file saves
