Turbo Tax Delux

Had a lot of entries. When downloaded the system, when calculating gains and losses, seemed to add rather than subtract. Also , cost was incorrectly reflected. Had to go to broker and check each entry, close to 200. Not happy.
What's great about it: Step by Step
What's not so great: Schedule D entries

Turbo Tax Premier

I have been using TT for a number of years. Q/A format makes it easy to enter info. Many entries have a link to a brief help topic with the ability to dig deeper if needed. Both are very helpful and easy to use. Product seems quite complete and accurate.
What's great about it: Question format=easy to enter info. Links to brief help topics are great.
What's not so great: Figuring out how to review or change an entry can be challenging.

Annoying charge at the end!

What's great about it: I got help from community answers on a complicated stock merger.
What's not so great: I was unpleasantly surprised by the Premier charge to file my "free" state return; no instrutions for mail return.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

What's great about it: Very detailed and went thru each step
What's not so great: not sure why i did not get deductions for education expenses

Small difficulties

For someone that is not versed in IRA rollovers, searching out information on which boxes to check is very difficult. That part is what took me the longest.
Also, for another area of my taxes, knowing that I needed a Form C was not clear. I had to go to an outside source to be clear.
When I first tried to contact you, it said that "services will be available AFTER April 18th." Really? Someone needs to look into that problem. But after three tries (two different days), I got through and was helped by "Harry".........thank goodness!

Forms No Longer Works Very Well, Help Sucks

Forms: I've used Turbo tax for years (Since the Apple II version.# I am familiar with IRS Forms and like to select a field and go directly to the form. Can't do it anymore! And why. Why is Intuit taking away features.
Help: I want to be able to select help #for example with the F1 key) and go to professional help on the subject. I don't want to go the Forum! How do I know what I'm getting there?
What's great about it: Forms option is still there
What's not so great: Your can't go straight to a form, Help goes to a forum
Pros: I bought or sold investments
